Outstanding light, lousy switch
I have a small collection of stand lights for my quintet and studio, and encounter many more on gigs. For lighting, this is by far the best I have used. It covers both pages of an open book or folder with uniform light. Even the corners are well lit. Usually the highest setting is too bright for use in a pit, but it is good to have when stage lighting creates shadows. The long power cord is a big plus. Stages and pits can be a cobweb of power strips and extension cords trying to make use of too few outlets for too many stand lights. A long cord means much easier to reach a power source without causing a trip hazard. The flush touch switch, while clever, is actually a huge drawback. It often takes multiple tries to turn the light on or off, and the tap control for dimming is a bit unpredictable. At one gig no one, even colleagues experienced with this model, could turn it on and we reverted to an old incandescent stand light for the evening. If the power is interrupted, the light will not come back on automatically when power is restored, and there is no physical switch to locate by touch. You have to know where and how to swipe, perhaps in dark surroundings, to turn the light on. No one needs these complications during a busy gig. I would much prefer a simple rotary or slide switch. As with many stand lights, the top of the clip is not parallel to the desk, and tall folders or sheet music will not lie flat on the desk. This can be inconvenient, but I can live with it.Finally, the design of the power source (power cube plus detachable USB cable) seems a bit irresponsible. Passing 12V through standard detachable USB connectors seems like a good way to accidentally apply over voltage to something, once again in the confusion that can arise during a busy gig. Better to use clearly labeled, custom connectors. I have added tags to the power cube and cable to head off possible errors. So there are some drawbacks, but for now, I'll keep and use this stand light for the sake of the excellent lighting on my music.

Does the job if you don't mind cold light color
The color of the light is very bluish and bright. (Yes, you can dim it, but the color is still very bluish.) So, I only use it when I really need to have a light, where with my old light I had it on whenever I played. Like other reviewers, I'm not crazy about the turn on/off mechanism, but it works okay, it's just weird. The price was very reasonable. My old light that I liked a lot was a lot more expensive and it only lasted a couple of years (the bulbs and connections became loose and the lights flickered on and of).

Arm with lights gets loose. After 7 months of low use, it will not light.
This is an excellent light, UNTIL the arm holding the light got so loose. It twirls all the way around until you find the perfect spot for it to stay still. It could not be tightened. So disappointed. Then the lights started to flicker and now it will no longer light. I have only had this light 7 months. It was only used at a church on weekends. It was not moved around a lot. I see it is not available now. It was a nice bright light, but it lights no longer.

Very good lamp. Great controls
Very good lamp. Great controls. Only problem is that it can be difficult to attach to the piano, especially without scratching the wood. This may depend on your piano as well, so just make sure you have a good spot for this to clip onto. On my piano, it pushed forward the pages of the music it was meant to light, thereby making them want to fall forward or bend in slightly and then slide off. It the clip is going to be above where your music sheets will reach, then this will likely be an awesome light for you. Adjustable brightness is great and turning on and off is easy.

The search for a great music stand light is over!
I am a professional classical guitar instructor and need a good music stand light to teach by. I have gone through three Mighty Bright lights - two of them being the Orchestra Lights - and they just are not bright enough, do not flood well enough and do not stand up to daily profession use. Well, I looked high and low for a better replacement, and this light is it!This LED music stand light is very well made, can adjusted to three setting and the brightest is really bright and floods a large, wide music stand extremely well. The low setting would be perfect for the orchestra or gigging. I love the touch/slide on and off function as well as the fact that it can be instantly adjusted with the tap of the finger. The clip is really big. It is on my wooden music stand which is 3/4" thick and fits with no problem - though I wouldn't recommend it for anything much wider. The long cable (no batteries here) is a tough USB type and the connectors are very well attached. The light itself is rather slim and simple looking and the long flexible arm makes this simple to position. My students are getting them and I highly recommend this light to other musicians and music teachers. The search for a great music stand light is over!

Great potential, but serious flaws.
If this lamp worked as it supposed to it would be an especially good one. When the lamp goes on It can produce a very nice, bright light. However, my on-off slide switch worked only rarely – maybe one out of 20 to 30 tries. The one time I was able to practice using the lamp, it it frequently changed levels of brightness by itself, without any prompting or touching by me. Without denigrating any reviewers who received this lamp free for review, I can only wonder how impartial they really are being by giving it five stars.

Once the light is on it's great..
Once the light is on it's great.....but to turn it on takes an engineering degree! even my 2 teenagers are unable to figure out why it's so difficult to turn on.....

Good light - poor power cord placement.
The light itself it really nice. But maybe when they were designing it somebody could have looked at a grand piano and not put the plug for the power cord on the side of the piano where the lid opens out. There were two choices and that was the wrong one.
