Best on the market
I have been a lover of Transcend Storjet drives for at least 10 years if not closer to 15. I only buy these when I can for my use and that of my customers. Hard drives do not like vibration. They don't even like being put on a desk in the normal way. These are protected by a rubber case, a damping system and a rugged case. Trust me they last. I had a shop and we would share these to do customer backups. We were not careful with them and they lasted me a good 7 years each. I sold some to a mate who blue tacked his to his desk and that is where they stayed. 12 years later still going strong. Never buy external HDDs (not talking SSD here) that come in plastic cases. They don't last. These do! The sad thing is that they are becoming harder to get.

Brilliant. Never failed in ten years. Needs formatting for Mac
Over the years, I’ve learnt the hard way the importance of backing up files to external hard drives. I’ve used Transcend portable hard drives for over ten years, and none of them has ever failed. With MS pc’s, the Transcend 25M3S is good to go straight out of the box: just plug it in.With Apple Mac’s, you’ll need to format the 25M3S first. If you’re familiar with this process, you’ll know that it’s a 10-second doddle. For those who aren’t, I’ve posted six step-by-step screen shots of what to do. WARNING – formatting will wipe your external hard drive clean, so do this only with a brand-new unit. If you’re using an old external hard drive, make sure you’ve already saved everything on it somewhere else.Formatting procedure.1. in the Finder window, search for ‘Disk Utility.app’.2. Double click on Disk Utility.app to open it.3. Highlight Transcend in the left-hand margin. For safety, I renamed my Transcend as ‘Transnd MAC’ and unplugged everything else.4. Click on ‘Erase’ – that’s the centre icon at the top of the Disk Utility window. That opens a sub-menu box.5. Choose ex-FAT in the Format box.6. Click on ‘Erase’ (Bottom right)That’s it. Your 25M3S is now ready to use on your Apple Mac. You can either drag existing files from your iMac to your Transcend, using your Finder window or simply save new files directly to your Transcend.

Satisfactory product, some false advertising.
For the price I was satisfied with what I got and the speed of delivery. However, the seller advertises the disk drive capacity as 4tb. I have ordered two and each only holds 3.63tb. If I'm paying for 4tb, shouldn't I get 4tb?

😊
Great storage for my files.

Robust and reliable so far
Bought this for photo storage as I am replacing all of my WD passport drives, all of which have failed or started failing . Went for a "spinning drive" rather than an SDD as they are easier to recover files from if something goes pear shaped.Well built, long enough cable and fast enough for photo storage. I may buy another one as a back up if amazon reduce the price a bit.

Best external hard drive
The best I ever had and the o my I buy. I have this since 2016 and had now issues. I’m not scared if it breaks, if there is a liquid accident around it, if I just drop it in my pack pack, because it won’t get squashed. I bought a second one this year for my university stuff. The only thing that happened over the year was the cable went loose so I had to replace it.

Great and durable
Great backup drive. I've purchased 100+ of these drives for clients and they work well and can withstand a little rough handling.
