ACURE Hydrating Conditioner, Argan, 8 Ounce

Review of Shampoo and Conditioner:I know hair care is very personal for people. What works amazingly for one person may not work at all for another, so we try and try stuff. This works like magic for me. It is by far and away the best shampoo I have ever used (for me). I have wavy to curly, fine, longish hair, of which there is a lot. My hair is hard to wash and rinse because fine hair with lots of volume makes it hard to work the shampoo through and then it gets trapped in there making it hard to rinse too. My hair can get drier on the ends and frizzy too, but it gets oily quicker on the scalp, and depending on the day and on the (previous) shampoo, would get oily looking anywhere from later that day to 2-3 days out.All of that being said, I bought this shampoo after reading the ingredient list and seeing reviews from people who sounded like they had similar hair to mine. I loved it from the minute I used it. My hair looked AMAZING!! Better than the salon!!! It was sooooo shiny and soft. My waves and curls had great definition and separation and little to no frizz with (NO ADDITIONAL PRODUCT!!). So I kept using it. Not gonna lie - I had a few days after that where my hair got greasy the next day and I nearly threw in the towel. I probably would've if the greasiness weren't just the scalp (and the ends looked amazing). But it seems like my scalp has adjusted. Now I can go 3 days without washing and my hair looks AMAZING in between even!!This has never happened - people are coming up to me just after me using this shampoo and conditioner (only change in my routine) and asking me if I got my hair highlighted or if I just got it cut because it looks amazing. Seriously. This stuff is legit!It lathers well for a natural shampoo. I wash only once usually with a quarter-sized amount of shampoo. If my hair doesn't feel as clean as I want, then I repeat with a dime-sized amount. It rinses so well! Not like many others. I don't feel like I have a bunch of gunk on my scalp. It's just clean and nice. The texture of the shampoo is like any normal (not natural) shampoo, and it smells amazing and clean. The conditioner is just as nice and detangles nicely.

I ordered based on the picture and what I received was not the item I had intended to purchase. Also be aware that there is no returning this item, even though there was false advertising involved - you will just be stuck with the wrong item, no replacement and no refund. Shameful!

I am SO happy I found ACURE on my hunt for cruelty free products! Everything I've tried from them has been the perfect mix of ethical, natural, affordable, and effective!This conditioner somehow (I guess it's those plant stem cells!) leaves my hair feeling as thick as if I'd done a coconut oil deep conditioning treatment (which normally takes me 2 hours!) Literally, my ponytail has a larger circumference after I use it with that fabulously cleansing ACURE shampoo.The absolute best part about using this combo of shampoo/conditioner iis that if I don't want to bother blow drying, my hair still looks huge & healthy (my 2 requirements!)In the name of cruelty free hair, I've tried several brands (Alba, Jason, etc.) and ACURE not only beat them all, it beat every shampoo/conditioner I've ever tried! And at $10ish a bottle, that's truly amazing.

I really wanted to like this, but it's just not good. It left an AWFUL greasy residue on my hair! I have long hair that's neither oily nor dry and I wash it about twice per week. I noticed a residue from the first time I used this conditioner - it felt like my hair never dried all the way after washing and conditioning... I used this product for about 3 weeks and then it went in the trash. By that point (after 6 uses or so) it literally felt as though I had applied something greasy to my hair and left it there. No good!

EDIT: I still like this conditioner for the most part, and it's definitely better than the lemongrass conditioner, which makes my hair a tangled, fried mess, but after about a week this conditioner caused acne on my scalp, hairline, and neck! If you have acne-prone skin, you might look elsewhere. I now much prefer the Giovanni silk conditioner with the 50/50 clarifying shampoo (I have an oily scalp but dry, highlighted hair). Those are 5 star products for me. With that said, this Acure argan oil conditioner is still WAY better than most natural conditioners I've tried.OLDER REVIEW:I use this conditioner with the lemongrass shampoo because my scalp tends to be oily while the rest of my hair is dry and damaged. I think most of the negative reviews for this product are from people who typically use silicone-based products because I have thick, long, wavy hair, and this conditioner definitely moisturizes and keeps the frizzies away - just not in that dimethicone sort of way. I don't feel like my hair is coated in gunk after I rinse. Of course, this means it doesn't make tangles slide free as easily in the shower, but I find that my hair isn't too difficult to comb through after I use it. My hair feels healthier and much softer and smoother after using it, and the only other shampoo and conditioner I've used that keeps my hair this smooth without a leave-in and styling is Davines Nounou - and that stuff is expensive! The Acure products are a bargain compared to what I'm used to, and I like that the ingredients are natural. As for the smell: if you like the smell of almond products, you'll like this. I find it very pleasant, and it isn't strong smelling once hair is dry...just smells clean. Personally, I don't like strong perfumes lingering on my hair. The only downside to this product is that I notice I have to use more of it than I do with other conditioners, which means this bottle might run out faster.
