Ebury Press Forensic Casebook: The Science of Crime Scene Investigation

This is not an academic book for forensics
I saw this book in my university library and decided it was suitable for my teaching class of crime scene investigation for Higher (S5/6) level pupils. It gives a basic run down of forensics and enough to give the jist of the subject that is required at this level. Because it is so basic, this is completely useless to any forensics student.I am not too enamoured with the quality of the book from this publisher (Ebury Press) and have included an image for reference. My university copy is glass paper. The pages are cream coloured and textured which means that any images printed will be terrible quality. The use of Photoshop in these book is shocking. The worst culprit being an ultrasound image of a foetus holding a sitting up teddy bear!Going by the blurb about the author, it is clear she has no qualifications whatsoever to publish any academic book regarding forensic science. She is more an anthropologist than anything.

forensic casebook
I actually bought this by mistake thinking it was new never read the description properly soon as I opened the pack could smell the musty smell, all right for those who like the smell of old books but for someone with a heightened sense of smell not for me went straight to charity shop.Having said that the book was although obviously well used still in a reasonably good readable condition, but as this was for a gift it just was not suitable for my purpose but my mistake .Ellie mcg
