Can a garden hose be attached to the platform? Or is the opening just a drain? I need it to divert water to a ground drain a few feet away.

It can be used as just a drain, but you can also screw a hose into it to drain at a farther distance.

Will this fill up with water if left outside? I’m assuming you can keep the drain open but defeats the purpose.
