This does seem to add a little volume. Hard to tell since I have thin, fine, lifeless hair. I wash my hair every 5 days. I also exercise 6 days a week and sweat like mad. This product took care of the oil and helps it look fine. The scent doesn’t seem to linger for very long but does make my hair not stink from not being washed. I’ve seen negative comments about the scent but I didn’t find the scent awful or too strong. I don’t like strong scents, don’t wear perfume or scented body products. People saying to put it on before you sleep are right. I do this sometimes and it works the best. If you spray it a lot, it does look a tiny white. I’ve only experienced that two times when I over sprayed. I massaged it in, and the white went away no problem. My hair is red, so I think I’d see if the product left white on it.

I'm not one to write reviews even though I read them all the time before buying but I had to quite one for this awesome dry shampoo. I read about this in an article and since it was only a few dollars I decided to try it. I am so pleased with it! My hair gets very oily within 24 hours of washing but I try and stretch it out at least 2 days between washing. I've tried several dry shampoos but this one is the best by far. When I put it on I look like I have freshly washed and styled hair all day, I can even go 3 days if I do choose. My favorite thing is that it doesn't stink like the others I've tried. It has a fresh scent that smells clean and isn't overpowering. Others I've tried are to floral or smell like spilled cheap perfume and often leave me feeling sick or with a headache after a short time but I find have this problem with the dove. I've had no problems with the can not working and it has lasted about a month. My only problem is that they are sold out and I know I'm getting low! Next time I'll order two so I won't run out!

I consider myself to be somewhat of a dry shampoo connoisseur because I feel like I've tried just about every dry shampoo available to me. Before I purchased the Dove Dry Shampoo, I was a die-hard Living Proof Dry Shampoo fan. My mother, who is a hairstylist, suggested that I give this one a go and it was love at first dry-cleanse. My Hair: I have naturally curly hair (3b-3c curls) that are easily straightened if I blow dry it (I do not use a straightening or curling iron). I only use dry shampoo when my hair is straight. First, it smells so good! At first, I felt like the scent was too strong and overpowering but that fades rather quickly. It just leaves the hair with a just-washed-my-hair shampoo/conditioner scent. There's very little white cast if you spray it on properly. The closer you spray to your scalp, the stronger the white cast gets. I find that any white cast that I do get is gone by the 30 seconds I wait before I shake out or brush my hair. I've sprayed this dry shampoo right on my front hairline without any issues after I shake it off. Secondly, this product not only gives you that clean-hair feeling, but it also leaves hair voluminous. It gives just the right amount of texture but doesn't make the hair gritty. It also doesn't leave hair with that dry, Halloween-stringy-wig lifeless look. One of the biggest problems I had with Living Proof's and The Dry Bar's dry shampoo was that around the 12-hour mark, the hair felt and looked a bit greasier than what I started with. Those two, as with almost all higher-end dry shampoos, have quite a bit of conditioning oils in them, which is not a bad thing, especially if you have very dry hair. I don't have particularly oily or dry hair but dry shampoos with certain oils certainly make my hair turn into a pumpkin at midnight lol! Doesn't mean they're not good options, but for the price, I want the longevity that this Dove dry shampoo provides. I knocked a star off a star because it does leave quite a bit of build up on the scalp if you spray it directly. It's best to use a clarifying shampoo if you've used this shampoo three consecutive days or more. I will usually only spray on my scalp on the first day, and if I need to use it again, I spray as close to the scalp as possible without spraying on my actual scalp. It's inevitable that you'll get some product on your scalp, but if you don't spray it directly you get less residue. Overall, this is a great dry shampoo, regardless of the price, and I highly recommend it. The fact that it's so cheap is just an awesome added bonus. I choose this one over my higher-end dry shampoo any day.

After a 45 min. blowout, I don't want to wash & repeat every morning. So I usually go 2-3 days between washing my hair. I love dry shampoo and I'm on a never ending quest to find the best product at the best PRICE. I've tried the $30 salon brands & the $3 drugstore brands and many, many in between. I tried the Dove this morning on my 3-days ago washed hair and I am really pleased with the product. Most drugstore brands leave my hair just feeling stiff & thick with product. The Dove DS made my hair feel soft with no real stiff or too-thick feeling. I really like the smell, but I guess everyone has their own opinion on that. It's a baby powder / ivory soap smell. All the other drugstore brands I've tried have been lemon scented & I end up feeling like I've just sprayed Lemon Pledge on my hair. I'll keep trying new brands as they come along, but this one is a winner, especially at this price! I've read a lot of these other reviews & I think that some might not be using the product correctly; using too much product & not rubbing it in. You want to spray a very little amount into the roots of your hair, sections at a time. Then you let is sit & 'work' for a few minutes. Then you rub it in with your fingers, like a scalp massage. This step is critial -- brushing alone won't get most of the white out. Then you brush the rest through. I've used the can I have at least 20 times. It doesn't matter how long your hair is - you just want to spray the roots. You can always ask the stylist to show you next time you go to the salon.

Originally I gave this product 5 stars. After using it for a while I had to only give it 3. First the positive: it smells fantastic, and it works to help control oil. I don't wash my hair everyday, so in between I like to use a dry shampoo. Now the cons: I have brunette hair, this leaves a harsh white cast on my hair. I've gotten around that by spraying my roots and putting my hair in a ponytail prior to showering.. by the time I am dressed I can massage the white out of my hair.. BUT, my hair feels weird like if you put too much product in your hair feeling. It actually makes me want to wash my hair after using it which defeats the purpose. For now it will do, still looking for a holy grail dry shampoo that doesn't cost a fortune.
