All good and nice

On one hand, this selfie tripod is everything that you need to get started making videos of yourself, on the other hand, everything about this tripod could be better.Included is a base, three telescopic posts, a 12” outer diameter circular LED with inline remote and USB power cord, a tri-accessory holder (can mount a phone plus two other accessories), three phone mounts (each detailed later in the review), a wireless Bluetooth phone remote and a carrying bag.Assembly is fairly straight forward and no instructions are needed.Some of the disappointments:- There are no ‘stops’ to prevent you from separating the telescopic sections at full extension- The sheet metal used to hold the feet can be inadvertently bent easily- The power cord cannot be removed from the light for transport- The included light doesn’t fit into the carrying bag- Build quality is generally poorThere are three phone mounts included; two are extendable to accommodate most phones:- one incorporates a 5” flexible section and can be mounted inside the light- one allows you to mount a phone directly to the tripod (no light)- one allows you to mount a phone directly to the tripod (no light) but is rigid (not extendable like the others)The two extendable units are able to hold my Samsung S10+ with case.The light includes 10 brightness settings and three colour temperatures ranging from 3000k to 5800k. The inline remote has a backlight only on the power button when the power is off.Fully extended, this tripod holds my phone approximately:- 58” above the ground directly attached to the post (no light)- 63” above the ground when attached via the flexmount inside the lightMeasured with the phone mounted in landscape orientation and measured to top of the phone.Overall, I’m happy to have this tripod as it provides a convenient way to holding my phone, but there are so many things that could be better.

I would have given this 3.5 stars if you could do half stars; I can't justify giving it 4 stars, but I think it's better than 3 stars. The main complaint I have about this light is that the light itself feels quite cheap. It's basic plastic and is so lightweight that it's actually hard to position it without worrying about breaking it. Also a very slight nudge can knock it over (especially if it's top-heavy by having a lot of phones or cameras attached to it) and you'd have to start over setting up your shot.The contents of the box are also not accurately reflected on the images that appear on the box. The listing on Amazon is correct, however the box indicated that it comes with a remote control for the light (it doesn't) and that you can plug it directly into the wall (you can't, it only has a USB plug at the end).On the positive side, you can very easily set the lighting temperature and the brightness by using the control on the light's power cable. It provides a good amount of light, which is great for making videos, and the light is soft and not harsh.There are a lot of accessories included for holding phones and cameras, and a tripod as well, so there is a lot of flexibility in terms of how you can set everything up.Also included is a bluetooth remote that you can connect to your phone and use to control starting and stopping the video recording.This light is just OK; it's not fantastic and it's not terrible. It's a little expensive for what you get, but there is value here if you're looking to enhance your videos with a little extra light.

You can choose between three different colour 'warmth' profiles, and the settings are dimmable in-line.The material is a basic plastic - there aren't really any premium materials here and the design is definitely functional and appropriately customizable (e.g. you have different phone mounting capabilities) but the build quality isn't going to blow you away at this value point. On the whole, though, it definitely gets the job done - it holds your phone in a reasonably sturdy stand, and it illuminates your face in a pretty way.

It may not be enough depending on how dark the room is, but it is sufficient for most. You can use your phone or camera with this, and it’s super simple to setup and use. I personally think 12” is enough, but you may want something bigger depending on the size of your studio. I really appreciate the modular design of this whole set; It gives me a lot of options to expand and adapt to various scenarios for photography or video creation. Especially with work from home, this LED ring is great compliment to a webcam or smartphone; By providing directional lighting and varying levels of brightness plus three white colour options, video and photos look amazing once tweaked; With mostly an improvement to skin tone and contrast, video conferencing looks more true to life with this LED light.There is some assembly required with the tripod. With high strength steel and respectable plastics used in the construction, it is a very solid stand once securely tightened together; If you decide to postition it freestanding, it has a very tall max height and a relative small footprint thanks to the smaller legs. The bag included does keep the tripod compact and easy to carry while on the go.The LED light ring is nice and large; It has a very beautiful illuminated body and easily mountable many different 1/4" compatible solutions. The cable providing power is attached and non-removeable; You will need your own USB type A power source to drive the LED light ring which could be a power bank or wall AC adapter. As a suggestion, I would keep the box for the light ring as it provides a much more simpler solution for storage or transporting.The inclusion of a remote shutter is nice as you can activate video or photo capture remotely. I like that it's a blue colour which makes it easy to standout and less likely to misplace; I would reccommend attaching a lanyard or unique keychain to the remote. As stated in the remote manual included, I may need to source a CR2032 battery for the bluetooth remote as it was not included.My favourite piece is this three way bar adapter which allows you to attach two more devices; This piece opens up a vast world of modular attachements for camera gear that support 1/4" mounts; You could mount an additional GoPro, Flashes, Quickplates, etc. For beginnners, this is excellent set to get you started with directional lighting.
