I LOVE it!!
I cannot get into a cold bed! It doesn’t matter whether it’s winter or summer, a cold bed gives me restless leg/body. For 10 years I’ve been warming my bed up with a Sunbeam electric throw. I would turn it off when I got into bed so I wouldn’t get overheated. However, as my body heated up through the night, just the thick fuzziness of the throw would be too much and I would have to get up, throw the other blankets back, and pull it off the bed. I didn’t even know there was any such thing as a heated mattress pad until a few months ago. I hesitated to buy one, because I thought I would be sleeping on uncomfortable wires. I finally decided to give it a try because I was tired of having to undo and remake my bed in the middle of the night. Since I was so happy with the Sunbeam heated throw and it’s s still working after 10 years, I decided to try the Sunbeam heated mattress pad. I’ve been sleeping on it 2 1/2 weeks and I LOVE it❗️ The first night I turned it on to 10 about an hour before I went to bed because I was used to turning the throw onto high and letting it heat the bed for an hour. Well, the bed was too warm and I had to pull the covers back to cool it down some. It took me a few nights to figure out the right setting for just warming the bed up. I set it on 3 and the bed is perfectly warm when I get in. I’m not sure if it takes a whole hour to heat up or not. One night I forgot to turn it on ahead of time and it only had 20 mins. The bed wasn’t warm enough, but it wasn’t completely cold. So, I would guess 30 to 40 minutes would be sufficient. We have a king size bed with two separate twin XL mattresses, so I bought the twin size, hoping it had enough depth to work. My mattress is about 10 inches deep and the mattress pad has no problem fitting and staying in place, even though it’s meant for a mattress 5 inches shorter. I can’t comment on whether you would feel any wires or not, because our king size mattress pad goes over the top of it. That may be the reason it takes more than 20 minutes to heat up my bed. If you don’t have another mattress pad on top of it it might heat up pretty quickly. If you’re a very sensitive sleeper, like I am, I would suggest just putting another thin mattress pad over the top of it if you do feel any wires. I am very happy with this mattress pad and have no problem recommending it to anyone who wants to have a warm bed to get into on our cold, Canadian winter nights.

So Far, So Good. Big Reduction in Electrical Heating Costs.
I saw a pretty wide spread of reviews with some people saying the product broke, others saying that it was awesome, and others saying it wasn't comfortable. We've had ours (two twins and a queen) for two months now and they've been great. We've seen a dramatic change in heating costs. At night time our room temperatures can get down to 50 and we're nice and toasty in our beds. The thermostat kicks on to warm up the rooms before we wake up, but through the sleeping hours (which are the coldest and 1/3 of the day) we're just using the electric mattress pads and a minimal amount from the house heaters. All winters are different, but we've cut our winter power bill by ~40% this year. As far as the comfort, you can sort-of feel the wires but perhaps my family is a bit less sensitive than others. It's akin to being able to feel the seam in a blanket or sheet: maybe you can, maybe you can't, but does it really matter? For us the answer is no. The auto-turn-off feature is nice too, set for 10 hours. That gives us enough time to turn these on an hour or so before bed, blankets on. That way it's nice and cozy in bed. If one of us forgets to turn it off in the morning, no big deal, it'll shut off soon enough. Given the rather terrible reviews from some folks I bought the warranties; we'll see how that all plays out if I do have any problems. Also, because this is electrical wiring directly in a bed you're sleeping in, I'd recommend making sure you have good smoke and CO detectors with a fire extinguisher. These are UL listed products and I haven't had any problems, and good fire safety should be in place whether or not you use these. Still, it makes me sleep better.

Your bed will be toasty!!!!
This is my third heated mattress pad. I use it on a twin bed. The first two pads I had… had to be duct taped to my mattress or they would get moved around in the wrong place. By the way I had each of those Sunbeam pads for about 4-5 years, one after the other. Also the first two were about half the size or less of my twin mattress. I use this pad to primarily to heat my legs and feet as they are the coldest parts of my body. This new one is like a fitted mattress sheet so it’s great that I don’t have to tape it down. While I gave almost 5 stars to all featured categories I do have to reveal that the temperature setting must be off. I only use a 1 out of 12. I set it for just 3-5 hours otherwise if I have it on all night I will wake up hot. The nice thing is this new pad has a timer unlike my old ones. Mind you I live in a cold north western state. When I get in the bed at the setting of 1 it feels like a warm bath. The warmth radiates to your entire body. Just lovely. I can’t imagine what a 6 or 12 would be like….scaldilng? I’m afraid to try that. But perhaps like one reviewer said I may need those higher settings as the wires/pad gets older. All in all very happy with this Sunbeam product.
