As others have said, this cleaner has a strong clove smell at first, but it dissipates quickly and was not unpleasant - and more importantly , my dog didn’t seem to mind it. It worked well, and had no alcohol in it to sting the sensitive tissues. I have a Cocker Spaniel, and his ears get amazingly dirty and I have to use a cleaner twice a week.

We noticed that our 7 month old black labrador puppy had a smelly ear with a decent amount of dark wax. I was a professional dog groomer for 12 years so I'm always paying close attention to our dog's health. It didn't smell like ear mites ( which would also be a black tar-like wax with a distinct old cheese smell). If it were ear mites, he would be going to the vet. I cleaned his ear every day for a week ( making sure I ended with getting some down in his ear canal using a cotton ball and gently massaging the base of his ear to get it down into every crevice) and it's almost completely cleared up! I highly recommend this ear cleaner!

Have used this for years for my golden retriever, with her floppy ears. She tolerates it well and keeps her ears clean.

This product was excellent with keeping my pet’s ear clean. She had a discharge which I was able to control with this product. I will continue to administer it on a weekly basis or as needed to keep ahead of any infection. There is a scent associated with this product that you have to get used to.

I saw a lot of good reviews so I puchased. Lots of reviews saying pleasant scent, not sure if mine is bad but it smells almost like garlic. Could smell on dog for a couple of days. Not sure what wrong with it
