If you're looking for some headphones like these for music performances; Is the 1st or 2nd generation better? Is volume control better than monitor?

I have never tried the 1st generation but can tell you that the second generation model is outstanding. We are transitioning to in ears for our praise team and the feedback from members is very positive. You will need a personal monitor amp of some type to get the volume needed. We are using the Behringer Powerplay P1 units. The drummers especially like being able to hear their mix without having to set floor monitor levels above the drum volume. Reduced stage sound levels and elimination of feedback are huge advantages. The sound level and clarity of the M6PRO2 is outstanding. Adding a click track has also made the performances very tight. I recommend these in ears to anyone who wants to improve their performance.

Does m6 pro have a version with mic? if not, is mee audio x1 a good alternative?

The M6 PRO comes with both a stereo and a mic cable that are interchangeable. The M6 PRO is an in-ear monitor, as the X1 is a sports headphone, which does not have interchangeable cables.

What do these have to plug into

The headset comes with a detachable cord that plugs into the phone with a standard 1/4 inch jack, and the other end accepts the left and right earpieces. This arrangement is very handy if you need to replace the cord sometime in the future, since you can just order and pay for the cord alone should the cord wear out

Are these good for a working bassist?

The M6 PRO (this model) and the MX2 PRO are the most popular among bassists. The M6 PRO has a more balanced frequency response and is generally our recommendation for the best all-around performance. The MX2 PRO differs in that it has a two-driver design with a dedicated subwoofer, meaning deeper and stronger bass. This can be especially valuable if you don't have a personal mix where you can adjust individual frequencies.
