wrong item sent
so when this boom mic arrived and i opened the box, to my annoyance it was just a standard cable no mic attached, looks like the wrong item was placed in the box, very disapointed.

Amazing on XM4, perfect on Stadia - make sure mic is unmuted when first plugging into controller.
Works fantastically so far on Stadia on MDR 4. You have to make sure the mute on the remote of the microphone is open (so unmuted) when you connect, otherwise the stadia remote (connected to chromecast ultra) will not detect the microphone and only provide audio. This is a cool-looking solution to being able to couch-play on Stadia. Totally worth it.

Mostly Great Until They Weren't
Bought the version of these for Sony headphones and overall it worked pretty great for 4-6months, at which point I started getting complaints from people of them hearing themselves and eventually they just stopped working, which probably means that the audio cables pulled loose from whatever they're soldered / attached to in the volume control module and originally became crossed / connected and then fully disconnected.Overall they should last far longer (shouldn't need a new one in 4 months), and I suspect that some of the problems are caused by the size / weight of the volume control module. It feels like it's damaging the cables unless you clip it onto something just from the weight of it.One last complaint about the volume control is that the mute button is a slider and it's difficult to find, impossible to just push to talk, and difficult to intuitively know whether or not it's muted. Mute buttons should be a squishy toggle button that you can immediately feel whether it's clicked in or out and lets you depress halfway to unmute without fully clicking into the permanent unmute state.

Sound Quality varies per device
The sound quality is dependent on the device it's plugged into, for example on my towerit sounds horrible when plugged in the front, but sounds pretty good when plugged in directly to the motherboard in the back. It won't be a studio quality mic, but you'll easily be heard and understood.I think it's pretty good, but there are 2 main problems:1. being attached to the headphone by a rotating port, it can move independently from your head and constantly hit your cheekif the cable is slightly pulling2. the pop filter keeps falling off, it's so loose I can litterally blow on it to make it fly off
