mini pc silencieux
je l'utilise depuis un mois et j'y ai installé pfSense et Adguard-Home pour servir comme FIrewall/DHCP/DNS sur mon réseau chez moi. J'ai remplacé la RAM par une barette 8G et le disque par un MSATA de 500G. pour le prix ils auraient pu y inclure 8G de RAM par défaut ... La température du CPU ne dépasse pas les 60°C.

Powerful household FW appliance at a good price.
Excellent bit of kit, however I ultimately returned it for a more powerful model so I could comfortable run VPN, pfBlocker and suricata on my 1Gbps link as my road got wired for fiber shortly after this arrived. If you are running a lower speed internet connection this box will do everything you need assuming you have the know how to flash and configure it. Well featured for the price point.

Works perfectly with PFsense on a 1 gig fttp nbn link even with wireguard. Good for home / small office networks.

High quality device from 2020
I purchased this device in 2020. It has ran flawlessly as a residential firewall. It does give off some heat so don't put it in an attic.

Very happy with unit. Not having any heat issues as others have commented on.
Have been running OPNsense on the Protectli Vault FW4B for several days now. It was easy to install the software and get it running in my network. I replaced a Netgate SG-1100 with this unit as the SG-1100 was always maxed out on cpu. This unit is generally under 50% cpu so from appearances, it is running much better than the Sg-1100. I was having intermittent issues on the network before but haven't experienced any negative issues since installing the FW4B. One concern I had was the mentioning of the unit getting very warm, even requiring an external fan to keep it at a decent temperature, but for me, so far it has consistently run at around 27 degrees celcius which is just fine. I'm guessing other people were probably taxing it more than I am but I'm running around 80 devices on my network, just to give an idea of my environment. So, if the heat is a concern, it may not be an issue for you. Going from pfSense on Netgate to OPNsense on the FW4B was a bit of a change but not too much of a challenge. Unfortunately, you can't actually migrate the config from one to the other (even though OPNsense was based on a pfSense version from the past). You will have to recreate your config if you migrate from pfSense to OPNsense. I could have just installed the community edition of pfSense but my understanding is that it is not being enhanced or improved at the same pace that OPNsense is. Final comment is I'm really happy with my decision to get the FW4B. If that opinion changes, I will update the review.
