How does the hook stay on?

There’s a little handle that they drop when they put their hand in it. My kiddo used it for a Halloween costume in 2019 (3rd grade)

Probably. It fits on an adult's hand.

Will this fit an adult?

This will not fit an adult. The hook was great but it caused an abrasion on my soms wrist and we had to discontinue using it.
