These are great for keeping items close
Holds my red flashlight in easy reach so I can quickly use it in the dark while stargazing. Make sure you know the weight of the item you want to hang as these are sold rated for MANY different draw weights. The first time I messed up and got one with too high a draw wt. It made it hard to pull the flashlight out and keep it out while in use. I felt like I was fighting the device. I got the smaller draw weight one and now it fells perfect. It is easy to pull out and use but when not in use it is strong enough to keep the light reeled in and not in my way.
