Schofield & Sims Ltd 11+ Maths Rapid Tests Book 4: Year 5, Ages 9-10

I've used a number of these kinds of books and despite them all claiming to be aligned to the national curriculum, they differ widely in difficulty, particularly in the the extent to which they require thinking beyond calculations and use 'word problems'. These Schofield and Sims were the most challenging books I've used, the layout is the clearest of the books I've used, the answer key is in a legible font size (often answer keys are microscopic), plus the answer key shows the workings. Of the books I've used I'd recommend:-Andrew Brody mental maths - easy and lots of repetition, which is great for starting out-Collins mental maths- a little more challenging, but gently paced-Bond 10 minute tests - harder, with a tiny answer key-Schofield and Simms maths rapid tests - the most challenging maths tests with lots of word problems requiring strategic thinking

Very good book to help prepare kids for the 11+. My daughter started using this in year 2 and we have it all the way to year 6. Highly recommended to support children
