Great little Tool!
This is one of those simple yet very useful tools that I wish I had come across years ago. It's handy of several every day workshop necessities. We're only limited by OUR ability to learn how to use IT. Each week I select a different function on the tool and then try and learn how to propery apply it to different situations around the shop and home. What I've been able to solve and "resolve" has been noteworthy! This little tool is a powder keg of application and resolve! This is the perfect gift for that guy who has everything. It's under $10 and chances are he doesn't already have one... But, he could sure use one. ;)

Well-made gage.
This gauge is well-made with clear and precise markings. The movable beam is riveted tightly to the gage body making it stiff to rotate, but it will loosen with use. I do, however, wish that the body of the gage was made of slightly thicker steel as it measures about .030". I am happy to have this gage and I will use it to grind drill bit points to correct angle and for marking and layout.

Great little ruler for all sorts of measuring jobs. I mainly use for drill bit angle after grinding

Will save you lots of money
Only got this for the drill bit gauge but it saves my shop hundreds of dollars from having to buy new bits plus it’s a very good skill to have.

This tool really solved a problem
I sell industrial cutting tools for a living and when an operator in a good account complained about the drills, I used this gage to solve the problem. He didn't know how to sharpen a 3/4" drill properly and was grinding one side more than the other. The tool helped him get it right and of course, made me look good for taking the time to buy him something to help him do his job. The generation that could walk up to a grinder and properly sharpen a drill has come and gone. This product has been around for years but few of the younger guys in a shop know about it. It is easy to understand how to use it correctly and works very well.

Good tool and a good price
This is not a super high precision tool but I was not expecting that for the price. For general woodworking and general shop work it is excellent. In my opinion there is no need to pay exorbitant prices for some of the big-name high precision similar tools. I use a lot of General Tools tools in my business and they are very good and in my opinion, are a very good buy.

Well... Its General.
I've been using General tools for years and picked this up for the drill guide portion. I chose it for the name and the fact that it popped up in a few youtube videos. First: I have never seen high precision from this brand and never expect it. But I was concerned about getting a knockoff, because anything lower quality would be horrible. Everything is cleanly marked, I do not know if the marking paint will survive oils and solvents. It might, some of the picket rulers I got from them survived a long time. I tried the center finder and it was close. There is not any way of locking the arm so... I got close. I have a center finder that I will continue to use since it hangs over stock better. This is thin. I tried to use the square setting but could not determine a marking to show where that will be. I will have to use a different square and scratch the steel. Also... the arm moves. There is a reminder on how to use the tool on the back and the drill/tap gage chart is handy. I did not give high stars because of the design but if you need a tool like this. Its probably accurate enough for what you need. I am keeping it.

Important for checking you drill bits have the point in the center and are correct angle.
I guess if you have done drill bit grinding a lot, you may not need this tool since you have a lot of experience and know what you are looking for. But if you are a novice. like me, this tool helps too check your grind before putting it to the real test of drilling through something. I would buy again if I somehow lost it.

I bought this multi use guage tool to try something new. Sharpening drill bits. To be honest I don't own expensive drill bits so needless to say they dull pretty quickly, especially drilling steel. I've sharpened drill bits in the past, or should I say tried to and ruined the bit, so if this guage helps me get a few more sharpening and uses out of the drill bits to save money, why not? So I've been using the guage for some time now and at first it took some practice, I'm elderly as they say, so my eyesight is not the best, but with practice I got pretty good at it. I've haven't use the guage for any of the other functions, except, the tap/drill size table came in handy once. I think it's a good tool to have in your toolbox.
