Will this give good protection against electrolysis in the international 6.9 diesel?

First check whether you are experiencing chemical and or stray voltage electrolysis. Get PH test strips to see if your coolant is acidic. Take your volt/ohm meter and test for stray (DC) voltage in your coolant. With the 6.9 international you should be doing more frequent cooling flushes and replacements. The VC-8 is an additive used based upon nitrate test strip results. It replenishes nitrate breakdown in coolant or adds to coolant to achieve a proper nitrate level. A simple inline coolant filter installed on the heater hose is helpful to trap metal degradation migration. A multi prong approach is needed to protect your 6.9.

So is this what I need for my 2015 6.7 powerstroke

I have a 2011 6.7 with the “coolant additive” displayed….used this bottle and nothing changed. I’m going to see if the sensor is dirty next.

Can this be mixed with VC12?

I use the VC8 with old school green anti freeze. I do know if you can use it with the VC12/ gold? I would check the specs of VC12

Ford 7.3 L IDI, will be flushing the radiator and changing the coolant. About how many bottles should I buy?

If you are changing the coolant, just purchase coolant with the additive already in it. If you are intent to use standard antifreeze, it will take four bottles of the VC-8 to get you in the protected range according to test strips. Once you have established protection, test your antifreeze yearly with test strips and ad VC-8 if needed.
