Garbage Disposal Strainer and Stopper with Decorative Disposal Flange in Black, Fit 3.5 Inch Standard Drain Hole

I got this because I'm in my sourdough era and don't want starter going into my garbage disposal. I add a drain net (Amazon sells 100/bag) over it when I'm baking. Works great! Doesn't leak. Well made. Highly recommend.

Fit and finish are nice. Black trim piece looks nice. Unit pushed down works great. Unit pulled 1/2 way up, to allow the water to drain but still capture the crap, doesn't work so great. It has a tendency not to stay up a little bit to allow the water to drain. Manufacturer needs to design it where you pull up a little bit and do a quarter turn, and it doesn't fall all the way back in. And I'm not an engineer, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night!

Drain fit perfectly in the sink and is simple to use. I really like the look, much better than what it was before. I also like the center can bs taken out to be cleaned or to use the disposal normally.

It really works I should have bought it sooner I wish it came in stainless steel but the black looks good. Not disappointed at all

I got this for my new black granite composite sink and it looked very good initially but over the last year has turned into a faded black. Also, not sure if this is an issue with all sink drain covers/flanges but it constantly traps water and bacteria between the original metal flange and this black cover which results in the sink smelling like a sewer after a few weeks. It fit snug initially but now it can come off when you pull out the strainer so I'm guessing the seals havent held up well and are allowing it to both easily come out and trapping dirty water under it. It's not a big deal if you remove it and quickly clean it every week or two but I think the more I do that the more it wears out the gasket which exacerbates the issue. If this product was less than $10 I'd say it's a 5 star purchase relative to price but it's over $20 for some cheap plastic that fades fairly quickly so I am reviewing it based on my expectations of it being a premium product which it is not.

Bought this thinking I needed it for my disposal unit but it came with one so it just sits in the cupboard.

I love this strainer. It is sturdy and works differently from all the others we have tried. They are a bit pricey but I guess you get what you pay for. Definitely worth it.
