Tested on a 1000 mile trip
I needed this for a 7+ hour trip for two kayaks. I installed on a 2022 Tacoma short bed and because one of the kayaks is a wide fishing kayak and 11.5’ long, I purchased a cheap j rack for one of them to make sure everything stayed on. Watch a few videos on YouTube for properly tying down a kayak on a roof rack. This rack worked as needed and is easily removed/stored when not in use. So far, I am extremely happy as a Thule or Yakima is over $1000 for just the basic components. I normally have a tonneau cover on the truck so this will only be installed a few times a year. I was skeptical but it made it there and back without issue. On the highway we were going 70+ mph for most of the trip and we took several winding roads in Tennessee. I added pictures to show how I oriented them and how I added foam pipe insulation to half of the cross bar for the kayak. Big chain hardware stores only carry up to 1” pipe insulation, this worked fine for me, just use zip ties. Final opinion, if you are only going to use this a few times a year, save your money and buy this instead. Even if you used it more frequently it seems like it will hold up. Other reviews mention rust on the welds and chipped paint, I’m sure I’ll have some of that too but for the cost difference it is not a huge deal.

Super easy to install and structurally sound
Great rack system for our 2003 Nissan Frontier for our many Lowes runs. The only downside is the finish. This was purchased and installed just a few months ago, there are already signs of rust and oxidation. We plan to scrub it down, scuff it up, and coat it in spray on undercoating.

Just needed a little love
I was a little worried getting something on the cheaper side. However, after reading all the reviews it seemed like the integrity of the rack was good, even though some of the reviews complained about the paint and rust. When I received it there was no issue with the paint, although it is a thin layer, I did not want it to rust. So I sanded the bars down and then applied a few layers of spray bed liner. If you don’t mind putting in a little work for the cheap price this rack is actually decent. After I got the tent installed I tested how sturdy it was and it didn’t budge.

ikamper 3.0 mini (RTT) Racks 18"
I figured I wouldn't be alone in the search for affordable RTT racks. I mounted these on a Chevy Colorado for use with my 125lb ikamper mini. The welds are solid (obviously not as quality as a custom fabrication shop) but will get the job done. Yes, they arrived slightly scratched as the paint is thin. I threw the supplied (China) bolts and hardware package away and went to my local hardware store for replacements. I really didn't mess around with the rack/ rail mounting system, but instead just drilled and bolted the set-up directly to the bed of my truck. Fitment and adjustability were good to go. My only concern will be wether the set screws are adequate enough for holding the top cross bars down and in place? If not, I'll end up running a tru bolt to fix the issue. I was prepared to take the racks to my local welding shop if the welds looked bad. But over all I am extremely happy with the racks, especially for the price$$$. RTT's are super pricey and I really didn't want to dump another 1k on a rack that was overkill. I am not an 'Overlander', but rather just a guy who likes to camp. Hope this helps.

Does not fit 2nd Gen Nissan Frontier
Does not fit 2nd Gen Nissan Frontier. Attempted to install on 2018 Nissan Frontier. After realizing that it does not reach the cargo rails, I saw the previous reviews suggesting flipping the factory installed cargo rails. This was not able to be done unless new holes are tapped in the walls of the bed or new holes be drilled in the rails. For a product to exhibit it being used on that vehicle and not mention that it would require modification to the vehicle is not reasonable. Know that to make this work would require far more labor or parts than expected. Not a quick install. Like many products, "universal" for this one means designed for Toyota Tacoma and not as shown in its own pictures. Also had scratches and chips in paint that would definitely result in rust. Was packed with bubbles wrap around each item and box was well intact, definitely not result of shipping.

A breeze to assemble
Easy to assemble, you’ll need a 14mm and a allen set. Put it together in about 30 mins. Installed directly into the bed rails of my 2021 Toyota Tacoma. Seems very sturdy for my use (kayak hauling). Totally meets fit, form, and function without breaking the bank. I am considering getting some lock washers for peace of mind.

Horrible shipping, decent rack.
First off, for the money, the item seems very sturdy. However when it arrived, the box was demolished. I knew it was gonna be a little rough opening it just based on the condition of the box no fault of the seller I would assume it’s a shipping issue. Then the box was missing the t slot nuts that are needed to mount it to the truck. A letter inside explained a burglary mishap which was unfortunate (as I was hoping to use the rack this weekend for a kayak trip) but again, not so much in the control of the seller. However the rack itself is pretty damaged. It’s a rack so I’m just gonna fix with some spray paint as the welds themselves look ok. Definitely recommend the seller have a discussion with shipping though, cheaper price point or not it shouldn’t arrive damaged, missing parts, and needing corrective touch ups. Overall, seems sturdy but haven’t been able to mount it (or truly test it under weight).

real sturdy
mine came damaged. Gouging and scratches everywhere and hardware missing. I ended up keeping it because I needed it right away. I had to sand it down, repaint it and buy replacement hardware but in the end, its pretty sturdy and actually looks tough on my jeep

Solidly built, easy to assemble, fits perfectly
For anyone who owns a Tacoma, you can see how it fits. Feels very solidly built, powder coat looks good. Handles Kayaks and SUPs easily. Overall very solid design and build. Update - after a month. I am seeing some rust dripping from the inside of the tubes. Not a huge deal given the price - I think some a touch of spray paint inside the tubes and or some oil spray should minimize. I did loose one of the plastic end caps. I'd make sure yours are in solidly. Only one came off, I suspect as a result of taking my kayak off. Just something to be aware of. I'd still recommend this.

Worth it for now!
Ordered this rack as I didn’t feel like ordering for over $1000 which would have been more then i paid for the tent. It seems sturdy and is holding the tent and awning. Tested it with 2 people in the tent and doesn’t seem to move. The only issue I noticed was the bolts supplied for the utility rack system where only grade 4.8 which I snapped 2 of while attaching. So off to Home Depot I went to get higher grade ones. Maybe I was trying to tighten it too much. I will agree with all other reviews my paint was all scratched but it’s a truck rack come on it’s gonna get scrapes. Will update my review with long term use

Très solide, mais vu l’eau entre a l’intérieur pcq c en plusieurs sections, l’a rouiller coule sur la peinture du truck à la première pluie 😐 , mais c solides et pratiques
