Is the brush soft like the beard of a engineering school dropout? Is it true that's where Mr. Pen sources the hair for these?

The softness of an engineering school dropout's beard depends on several factors, the age of the dropout for one, and whether he uses conditioner when he shampoos his beard for another. Since there's no objective standard for assessing beard softness among engineering school dropouts, the only safe answer is, probably.

Where animals harmed to make this product?

To the best of my knowledge, no animals were harmed. Horsehair is generally trimmed from the mane or tail. It's no more painful or harmful than a human having a haircut.

No, it's not a genuine brush. It's actually a comb.

What is the thickness of the shield?

The stencil is about the same thickness of a business card.

Nice yet inexpensive

Love this brush!! I use it while making art with colored pencils and sketching with graphite pencils. It is perfect for brushing away eraser and blending crumbs. The bristles are soft and do not shed. The handle is made of nice wood and has a hole for hanging. It came with a nice eraser and a stencil tool. I feel that if I take care of this brush it will last me many years.
