AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Study Guide: Associate (SOA-C01) Exam

Overall I have found this guide useful. A lot of the content is good and it's easy to read and follow. The Wiley Efficient Learning online stuff is very useful as well and a good bonus.Two things let this book down though: Missed topics, and review questions.The exam practice questions cover topics that are simply not discussed in the book's content. Having already booked my exam, this means I'm now panicking to discover what else isn't included so I can read about it before the exam!And the review questions... boy oh boy did anyone bother proof-reading these at all? There are errors, very misleading questions, repeated answers, typos, reversed answers, you name it. I've lost count of the number of errors I've reported to them, and I've yet to have any response suggesting they're reviewing the complaints.

I have been buying books from Sybex for a while, as they are the best ones in my opinion for certifications.Unfortunately this book is a joke. The information in it is not to a good standard, not only that but the questions at the end of each chapter ask you about things that are not in the book but would be in the exam. The authors seemed to have thought it right to just add reference URLs at the end of every chapter to go find it for ourselves (If that was what I knew I had to do I would have done it without the need to buy the book).Very disappointed in Sybex I expected more from them. In my opinion this book is more of a novelty than a study guide as the information in it is minimal at best.

Far too many typos but more seriously, some serious technical errors in the answers to the questions. The authors in particular seem to have misconceptions about AWS CloudTrail; possibly they have read the docs and made up questions on it without ever having used it?Overall, it does cover some useful ground and researching/checking the answers to the quiz questions does force you to engage with the material, but I wouldn't buy AWS products from this publisher/authors again, as they seem not to have taken any care over it.

a useful guide however it seems rushed and certain answers are incorrect one example is in chapter 3 question 2, the answer is C & D not B & C as shown in the appendix, these details are not too common but common enough to be a nuisance, along with the occasional grammatical error, it can cause frustration at times however overall is still useful in preparing for the SysOps exam

Bought to impress coworkers. Did not disappoint

Yeah, the book is a joke.Unfortunately, I'm in the habit of marking the most important passages with a pen when I read it. When I realized how little the book is worth, it was too late to send it back. It was already written with my pen.This is some kind of review of services at AWS, not an exam preparation guide. I recommend you look around for another book.
