What are the dimensions of this container: total height, width, thickness?

Sitting upright, it's supposed to have an 11"x11.3" base. I'd call it more like a fat 12"x12" When you fill it with water, the sides bulge and it will not fit in the same space it fits when empty. For instance, it does not fit into an RV stairwell when full.

Is the container BHP (?) free?

Mine clearly state on the containers in English “FDA approved and BPA free”. In French it says “sans BPA”, meaning without BPA.

Are there any replacement caps available that do NOT have a spigot? I'm looking for a more reliable sealing solution than trusting teflon tape.

You can use rubber cement to make the spigot one piece. That is where most leaks occurre. If your leak is at the body of the container you only real option is Teflon tape. When you start to put on your cap always turn counter clockwise so the threads line up then tighten as normal. With both pieces being made of different types of plastic it is very easy to cross thread the container. That would cause a leak that is non repairable.

is "sans bpa free" a legal loophole? why not put sans bpa, bpa free?

I believe it's because it's a Canadian product and so they have to put it in French and English (sans BPA, BPA free). The way they wrote it is a bit confusing, but I think it was more of a graphic design decision.
