IN DEPTH - Mac, USB ports, opinion
IN-DEPTH REVIEW !!!!! (for those that research their products well) ---First: with NUM-LOCK OFF:8 is UP ARROW, 4 is LEFT ARROW, 6 is RIGHT ARROW, 2 is DOWN ARROW,9 is PAGE UP a little, 3 is PAGE DOWN a little7 is HOME, 1 is END0 is INSERT (does nothing on Mac, as far as I can tell). (period/decimal) is REVERSE DELETE? (it backspaces the character to the right of your cursor)/ * - + Tab, Enter, and backspace don't change----MAC----JUST received this keypad. Upon arrival, all keys work perfectly on my 2012 Macbook Pro with Yosemite 10.10.5 (despite the amazon ad only mentioning pc compatibility) . A small new keyboard installation window or something like that will pop up because the Mac thought it might be a full keyboard; I just closed that window and didn't have to do any setup/install/config for it to work. Plug it in and type!----USB PORTS----The main reason I bought this specific keypad was because it has USB ports, so that when using the keypad I don't lose the amount of USB ports I have. As a matter of fact, now I have an extra: It uses 1 port but provides 2. My mouse works while plugged into the keypad, even the macro buttons on my mouse work. I often use an external hard drive which I assume benefits from the USB 3.0 capability of the Macbook Pro's USB port, so when that hard drive and this keypad are plugged into my Mac (although they take up all 2 USB ports on my mac) I can still use my mouse and even another device because of the 2 EXTRA USB ports.I just plugged a flashdrive into the keypad's USB port and it works totally normal; all files show up as normal. So they aren't like dummy charging USB ports, they are real and fully functional.----BUILD QUALITY----First, the "eh"s. The cord feels a little cheap. The white plastic on the bottom feels a tiny bit cheap. The design is not awesome (but you can see yourself via the amazon pictures). The USB ports are not standard feeling; they're a little sketchy at first, until you realize that they feel different because they are more snug than normal loose USB ports, which is a good thing (just don't pull on delicate cords to disconnect usb devices from the ports). Now, the "cool"s. The 2 extra USB ports ARE REAL and WORK! The USB ports give a great sturdy feedback feel and small click so you know when something is in right. The silvery surface on top has a nice smooth feel to it, but not glossy. The buttons feel really nice to press (< opinion) - they feel similar to macbook keys - the texture is slightly smoother on macbook keyboards - the keys themselves are a little thicker than macbook pro keys - THE BEST PART: they feel more responsive than macbook keys. They are slightly harder to press down, but give better satisfaction when they pass that pressure threshold. They give off a deeper and slightly more clinky/looser sound than macbook keys do when pressed. They do NOT click or clack like loud old keyboards but they do feel somewhat like mechanical keys.Feel free to ask questions, I'll try to answer if I see any I can.*I have not had this keypad for even 2 days - I will update if it breaks down, or stops working" but i assume it will last a good amount

Great addition for labtop
I use with MacBook thus the only key doesn't function is "00". Except that the keys are just good touch feeling (not too heavy not too light) and easy to use (just to connect to USB port, no need to installation). Another thing I like is an additional USB port on the side which is very useful.

FIX for double-characters issue
When I got this number pad I noticed that when I typed quickly, often 2 numbers would be repeated, or worse an arrow key would be sent instead of a number. I tried changing drivers to no avail. Finally found the solution - toggling the numlock on my laptop (on my Dell Latitude this meant pressing fn-insert). Works perfectly now!The USB hub also works great - can even power a Logitech webcam.

Works great, personal preference reason for -1 star
The keypad works great and the USB hub is perfect for a card reader attachment I use. I use it for individuals who need to log in or sign things and they can quickly insert their access card and pin, or input their employee ID for me (less typing/errors on my part and saves a bit on the carpal tunnel). The only "issue" I found, and wish they had an option for (purely personal preference), is I wish they had one WITHOUT the double zero (00); it often confuses people and they use it instead of the regular one. Not a deal-breaker but, again, personal preference and for what I need it, otherwise, no issues.

Works great as a dental Hygienist that can't reach the computer during perio charting.

Timesaver!
This simple USB number keypad has literally saved me hours by not having to use the function keys on my laptop for inputting and calculating numbers. Simple to use, easy touch large keys-great product-highly recommend.

Works great! It's nice and slim with a white design and keys to look nice next to my Macbook Air. All the keys work perfectly. It comes with a light up number lock button to switch the keypad on or off. Don't know when I would use that feature often since I would probably just plug the device when not in use. It also comes with two additional USB ports on the side which is nice.Overall, great product. Would recommend.

Does what is needed, but the #2 key misses - A LOT.
I have a smaller new laptop without a keypad, but I really need a keypad to enter in lots of numbers. This one is great because it has a "Tab" key as well as an "Enter" key. Very helpful with programs like Quicken. I'm not the fastest keypad person on the planet, but even so, the #2 key misses 4 out of 5 times, even if I slow down <--sort of ruining the whole point of getting a keypad in the first place. I did not return it because I already trashed the box. It's OK, a good size, and the other keys work really well...
