If you;re in need of a new water pump for your Toyota, look no further than an Aisin pump. Installed this one on my Echo as preventative maintenance though it turned out my original one had just started to weep slightly as there was a small amount of crusty buildup on it and with them side by side you can tell Aisin is the OE manufacturer. The gaskets are identical in both fit and construction, the impeller is made the exact same way and the machining on the gasket mating surface was near perfect. The only thing it doesn't have is the Toyota name stamped on it, they grind that off on pumps sold under their own name. Considering the water pump is not the easiest thing to change on these vehicles due to it's location, save yourself the frustration of doing the job twice and buy a quality pump the first time. Mine has since been running happily with no leaks since I installed it and considering the price I paid for it, was an excellent value as well considering it's the OE pump. In short, I highly suggest buying this Aisin water pump if you're in need of a replacement water pump since it gets you an OE quality water pump without the inflated dealer price tag.

I waited a long time to do this review to make sure it didn't die immediately and I'm very happy to say it's still working perfectly. If you need one for a Scion xA definitely go with this one over any other brand besides Toyota official if you can afford that.

This is the OEM part for the 1NZ-FE motor, and when it comes to something as important as the cooling system, you should ALWAYS use OEM. This applies to the water pump, but also the hoses, thermostat, gaskets, and ESPECIALLY THE COOLANT!!! Always use your manufacturer's recommended coolant. At $22 a gallon at the dealership, Toyota Pink Super Long Life coolant is only a few dollars more per gallon than the generic stuff sold at the chain parts stores. An engine filled with sludge from competing coolants? $1,500, plus a lifetime of leaking seals and failing periphery components like the heater core and radiator. Hondas gets Honda coolant. Toyotas gets Toyota coolant. Nissans get Nissan coolant. Don't chance it. If you're racing, mix 50/50 premixed coolant with distilled water and change your thermostat to a performance part. If you're still running too hot, add an auxillary cooler. Don't use additives. Don't use "racing coolants." You'll regret it. This is about 70% the price it is from the dealership, but a little more than you can find it on eBay. In my experience, you get what you pay for with eBay parts without the reliability and customer service of Amazon. For this reason alone, it's worth the extra coin.
