Omix-Ada | 17102.52 | Engine Cooling Fan Assembly | OE Reference: 52028337AC | Fits 1997-2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ

I have a 96 XJ. OEM fan was a 9 blade. The 97+ fans fit you just have to spice in the 96 connector. Anyways the newer fan is a 10 blade model and it is supposedly the best drop in replacement. I purchased the Crown version first and that was a no go. The fan blades stuck out too much. The base was literally almost level with the shroud. It would rub against the power steering pump pulley and idler pulley. My original fan sat more flush with a little protrusion. So I got this Omix one to give it a shot since the photos seem to imply the fan is not sticking out. Wow. Perfect fit. The fan is under the shroud with no protrusion of the blades. And they were tighter as well. The Crown wobbled too much. To keep it short, this Omix was just what I needed and it is a definite improvement over my older, weak one. I included photos so you can see where the lips of the fan blades sit.As an aside, I have Brown Dog engine mounts and brackets and a heavy duty transmission mount from Ironman4x4 Fab so my engine sits a hair closer to the front.

This was an exact fit for the OEM fan on my Cherokee. It's much quieter than the original fan. I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Spend the extra money and and buy OEM.
