Would these make for a decent hand towel in my kitchen or are they just for cleaning?

I bought these specifically for drying dishes and not for cleaning. They are sturdy towels but a bit on the small side, but definitely large enough to use as hand towels or for drying dishes. This is not at all the kind of towel I would choose for cleaning / scrubbing. I hope my feedback helps.

Do they have a loop in the corner for hanging?

Yes, loop is near, not in, a corner. Loop is TOO SMALL to fit over my 1-1/2" cabinet knob. I had to remove it and create a fix that would allow me to hang the towel. See my review with photos on Dec. 13, 2022 for that fix.

How soft are these towels? Are they rough or stiff at all? How about after washing, do they soften up?

After you wash them they are soft. Out of the package they have a stiffness to them. Wash up nice. Not a really large towel, but they dry nice. I would buy them again.

Did these towels shrink after washing? 15X25 isn't that big for drying a large stock pot

No, I haven't had a problem with shrinking with these towels , in the months I had them. I don't use a high heat setting.. As far as the size goes drying a stock pot hasn't been an issue for me. I'm boiling 2 to 8 quarts of water every day and prefer to use these towels; when cleaning up because they absorb more water then other towels we have.

LOW QUALITY! Much smaller and wrinkled after 1st wash.

I paid 65 AED for a pack of 12 and after the first wash, they shrunk to 13 x 22.5 inches, the edges curl up and don't look nice enough to keep out. Now it appears the vendor has DRASTICALLY increased the price but the pack of 12 wasn't worth 65aed!

Absolutely worth the buy. Work well in all kitchen and dining room settings. Absorb well and come back just as new after a wash. The size is perfect for drying small and large pots and kitchen utensils. Really a good product and highly recommended.

Overall: very good, easy to wash, shrink in washing & drying, hook for hanging, thick & absorbent. Large label (I'll probably cut this), absolutely brilliant for holding hot dishes from the oven. I'd consider another set for napkins. Size: good size when delivered, after washing & tumble drying a few times they have definitely shrunk, but still an acceptable size for a tea towel. Thickness: thicker than other tea towels I have. Although they felt quite thin when delivered, after washing they actually felt thicker for some reason & have stayed that way. Washing: haven't stained, wash & tumble dry well, colour doesn't leach from the red stripes. Absorbency: very good, dry items well.
