Satisfied
I’m glad purchasing used book. The quality is almost as promised. The pages are good. Content-wise this book explains things in depth compared to physics for scientists and engineers. It doesn’t start with motion. You might need some help though. The program is good

Testo Must Have

Very Enlightening and Thought-Provoking Approach to the Study of Physics
It must be kept in mind that this is a compilation of Dr. Feynman's lectures to his 1st-year physics students at Caltech. The students do not have the mathematical tools as yet to be able to deal with a comprehensive theory of electromagnetic theory. So, Dr. Feynman takes a most interesting tack, focusing on the electromagnetic radiation resulting from the acceleration of an oscillating source. It is amazing what he developed with this strategy, giving plausible mechanisms for how electromagnetic radiation interacts with matter (reflection, refraction, interference/diffraction, scattering, etc). He shows how this seemingly simple concept explains everyday observations such as the blue colour of the sky, mirages, and so forth. He also takes a very lucid approach to Special Relativity, the circumstances that led to it and how it explains phenomena in nature by giving interesting examples of its use. He also touches on Quantum Theory, very elegantly and lucidly explaining how Planck's model for blackbody radiation explains the spectral profiles by introducing the concept of levels for oscillators. He also introduces the student to other aspects of quantum theory, spending some time on the concept of the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle. He provides insight into Thermodynamics and the Kinetic Molecular Theory, to Brownian Motion, Diffusion and other transport phenomena. Fourier analysis and wave behaviour, a model for sound transmission, and many other topics are touched on, giving the student an excellent introduction to the subject and whetting his appetite to learn physics in more depth later on. Dr. Feynman had a very unique and impressive of teaching a difficult subject in a very enlightening while entertaining fashion. He was a master teacher! I have volumes II and III and can't wait to learn more!
