No, your child shouldn’t be able to escape. It has a chest strap that keeps the backpack in place. Unless your kid knows how to undo a clip you should be fine.

Yes, there is a mesh pocket for bottle or juice box on the side.

Does it work for 4 years old or its too small?

Can a 4 year old wear it? Yes. But not much will fit inside. It works better for 3 and under. Perfect for 1-2 year old. I have the larger size for my 3 year old and my 1.5 year old uses this one. It is very well made and adorable though.

Can you get a replacement for the leash strap?
