Ordered these a few times...
...because I have purchased several hamsters (each has it's own cage, of course) and did notice through trial and error that they were chewing through the plastic water bottles or just simply, the plastic bottles were leaking water. I would fill them up and the next morning, I would see all the water leaked out and onto fresh clean bedding in my hamsters cage causing me to really panic wondering if my hamster was able to even drink anything throughout the night after running in their wheel all night long. So, with that being said, I like the glass water bottles by Lixit. It's glass, so it's chew proof and there has not been an issue for me with these leaking. I do like the fact that it was shipped out and delivered MUCH faster than anticipated. I do agree with another reviewer, though, that the spring that is used to hold the bottle to the cage may not work for everyone, reason being is that some hamster owners would rather keep their hamsters in a glass aquarium cage, not a cage with bars and so that can cause an issue with those owners who would rather hang these bottles over the top of the aquarium cage, so I just wish that Lixit would accommodate for not only the spring option to hang it through barred cages, but also an aquarium mount for those that chose to keep their hamsters in glass aquarium cages. If they could start sending the spring AND an aquarium mount with the bottle, that would make it the perfect purchase. That way, they accommodate ALL hamster pet owners regardless of the type of cage they choose to use. Knocking off 1 star because it needs to come with an aquarium mount also, not JUST a spring mount.

My Birds Drink Water!
I have two parakeets and they just didn't want to drink water - whatever I tried. I found this bottle online and had my doubts (given the average ratings), but I thought I'd give it a try. The girl (she's the explorer) figured out how to use it within one week - the boy took a few days longer, but now they're both drinking water, I can see them early in the morning and throughout the day, I can see the level of the water inside the bottle going down. I keep an eye on it and I have it placed in such a way that I can see the air bubbles going up when the birds drink. As long as the bubbles are going up, I know water is coming out.I've had this 8 oz bottle for four months now, and it never failed, it never got stuck, and it doesn't leak on its own. It is easy to clean/refill and the spring that fastens it to the cage is a perfect size, never had any issues with it. My birds don't have a problem sharing one bottle. If anything happens to this one I will order an identical one and hope to have the same luck.

My Bird's Favorite Waterer
After 23 years of only drinking from water bowls or my water bottle, my parrot fell in love with his glass water bottle immediately and prefers the activity of clicking the float with his tongue for water delivery.Only drawback is that with only 1 spring bungee, I have to use a pair of clothespins on either side of the stainless steel tube to keep it from popping off the metal cage and falling to the floor. If you have vertical bars, this isn't a problem.

Bird approved
I love these bottles. They work better than any other brand I have tried, and seem to be able to withstand the brutal use by several parrots. I don't use the included wire fasteners, my birds could break those in a heartbeat. I actually use heavy duty Velcro straps instead. But with all bottles there are some simple precautions. One is to make sure they work each and every time you hang them. Tap the end of the spout to make sure water comes out. I give all of my birds a bowl of fresh water everyday as well, just in case they need it, and for them to bathe in as well. Birds can stuff things in there, so you need to make sure they are getting water from it each day. Change the water often, otherwise it will grow stuff. Clean the inside with a bottle brush or they will grow stuff. I use hot water and Efferdent tabs to clean them as well. Whatever you use, rinse them well so your pets don't get chemicals. The little floating plastic turtle is easily removed by filling the bottle and turning it upside down. The water will pull it out or to the end of the bottle where it can be removed. They usually fall out of mine during cleaning. Clean the nozzle with a q-tip or a brush made for that purpose. As with all things related to pet care, the success is dependent on your habits.

Well-made and easy to maintain
After a decade of using these in various sizes for parrots and sugar gliders I have never encountered a problem with leaking. I believe it must be user error as some people have stated the problem is making sure the rubber washer is flat. I use glass because it is uniform and easier to sanitize effectively. The glass and the plastic head hold up to being soaked in searing water with disinfectant. The only design flaw, judging from my experience using the product, is the flexible metal wire that is meant to hold the bottle in place. It works for the smaller bottle sizes of this same design, but for the size and weight of the bottle when full it tilts to the side if one is using a cage with a greater amount of horizontal bars than vertical. This dispenser spout will be usable by small to large birds and of course rodents such as guinea pigs or large rats. It holds enough volume to last a chinchilla or rabbit through the day. Again, if a bottle leaks, check that the rubber washer is in tightly and flat.

Chew proof!!!
Perfect. LEt's see the furry little buggers chew through this! I would have saved a fortune on plastic bottles, if I had thought to look for this sooner. Great product.

No vale para loros. NO comprar.
