The size is exactly what it says in my case 16 petite and it fit perfectly. The wedding I planned to wear it to is not formal enough for me to wear this dress so i had to return it. The color is very beautiful as well.

As an over-50 woman, I was looking for something conservative, with sleeves, and a higher neckline than is shown in stores. All the gowns that I found in the stores were near strapless with TONS of glitter and crystal. Not my style at all. This dress was a godsend. I was SO relieved when I found it. The top is lace with just enough sequins. The lace top is also lined (hiding the bra straps). The 3/4 sleeves covered just enough of my arms. The fabric has some stretch, and it was very comfortable to wear. The skirt is 2 layers so under-slip is not necessary. It was an outdoor wedding in the fall so I did wear some undergarments for warmth, which did not show. If you are looking for a conservative gown that is classy but understated, this is it. Some sources have it in a few other color combinations, but this one (it's dark teal, not blue), was perfect. I got more compliment than I have ever had.

I had to switch from a tea-length version of this dress to the long version at the last minute before my son’s wedding. It arrived 10 days before the wedding, which was great! However, it was too long, as I figured it might be, and had someone hem it for me. The length of the overlay and the actual dress shell was all over the place (VERY uneven). Luckily for me, the shortest part of the hem was exactly where I needed the length to be, so my great seamstress saved the day! It turned out well, but just be aware that these mass produced dresses aren’t perfect in the quality control department!

Ordered this dress to wear for my son's wedding. For reference: I'm 5'2, 170 lbs. I ordered size 14P, and it fits me perfectly. No need to make any adjustments whatsoever.

It fits perfectly. However it came very wrinkly. I like the design and how it fit so nicely.

The dresses were very nice however, too long for me. I Requested a return and sent the two dresses back that I purchased, It's been 5 days and as of yet I have not been credited to my Amazon Visa!!! I called but got no help. Please be aware that the return policy on this type of purchase is not good!!!!I'm very frustrated and I will never buy this type of product again from Amazon.

This is the PERFECT evening dress! I spent nearly 10 months searching for a pretty, simple and flattering dress to wear to my niece's wedding. I would never have anticipated that this would present such a challenge! The main problem is that there basically are NO styles suitable and becoming for older women. There appear to be two extremes: either shift or sheath dresses which cling and reveal everything you do not want revealed, or 'fit and flare' dresses which have a nice top and waist but crinoline puffy skirts which make any woman look FAT. Then, there are the problems with plunging necklines, slits up the legs, low backs, etc. I am 60 years old. For reference I am 5' 1" and weigh 118 lbs. My measurements are 34-28-36. I am about 8 pounds heavier than way back in college. I have always worn a size 6 petite. That is another issue; it is exceedingly difficult to find petite dresses that aren't designed for women in their 20s and 30s. This dress looks good and feels good. With low heels (2 inches) the hem is the perfect length; another plus. This dress did not require any alterations, AND I purchased it at a bargain price! The jewel neckline is just right and the back comes down in a V, but not too low. It has a nice long zipper and is easy to get on and off, not like some of the other dresses I tried. One, I struggled to get out of for twenty minutes in my bathroom. The bodice is pretty, decorated, just lightly with sequins and the skirt flows nicely with a classic A line hem. It has a chiffon layer over the polyester layer. One reviewer complained that the material was shoddy. But MOST clothes these days are not made from gorgeous, expensive silks, satins, real velvets, etc. That was a generation(s) ago. And, the color is lovely. Originally, I was looking for a burgundy/cranberry red dress which is my favorite color and looks best on me, but the 'plum' color is exquisite. One reviewer described it as more like 'merlot wine'. It's more purple than wine color. I couldn't be happier with my purchase! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

My daughter is getting married in June and her colours are plum & Blue. This dress is absolutely beautiful and perfect. My only issue is I am only 5'2'', so will have to have it altered at the hem, but that's nothing. It looks and feels beautiful. I will be so proud to wear it.

Beautiful colour. The dress is very forgiving and very comfortable. I still had to get it hemmed since I’m 5 ft and wore very low heeled shoes. I wore it to my daughter’s wedding and felt amazing wearing it. I would definitely recommend this dress
