I gave away first copy from years ago and I rebought this most insightful book I highly recommend

Let's face it, unless you're reading a NLT Version of the Bible with lots of foot notes, the Bible can be a tough read. Jesus's parables themselves are difficult without some back information. This book gives the reader the tools to examine, understand and put into practice many of the messages spelled out. A great learning tool for understanding this group of parables.

This is an excellent book for those wanting to learn how Jesus thinks and reasons. There's no better instruction book than the words of our Lord himself, and this book does an excellent job in explaining how some of Jesus's mysterious stories can be interpreted. Most amazing to me is how "perfect" Jesus's parables are-- beautifully complete little stories or anecdotes that contain profoundly important and timeless messages for all of us. This book does a great job in helping us understand what Jesus was-- and is-- all about.

Extremely Honest Seller and Great Products

I had to stop my reading , because I wanted to do a review. I am totally enjoying how Mr Boice way of explaining everything. The book is very easy to read , and his explanation and reasoning so far makes awesome sense . If you are thinking of doing some reading on parables and looking for a book, and trying to decide which one , choose this one .

A wonderful, Biblically faithful, and Christ-centered supplement to a study of the Parables!

I have not finished reading this but have no doubt that it's inspirational so far so good!

I'm not somone who is highly educated. I do however seek to broaden/deepen my understanding. My main area of interest is religion, and more specifically, the Christian religion. Currently I'm studying the parables that our Lord spoke. There are lots of books on this subject; however not all these books are suitable for someone like myself. Too many are written in a learned and academic style. Not many are suitable for a general readership; J.M. Boice's Parables of Jesus is most definitely written for a general readership. Mr Boice gives to the layperson a book which is edifying and interesting. Mr Boice fascinates with his expositions on the parables. He brings out the meaning of each story beautifully and in such a way that everyone will appreciate. If you want a book about jesus' parables that isn't full of technical language and that actually opens your eyes to what our Lord wanted to teach then this is a good book.

I have been a Christian for many years and thought I knew all them all well. That is until I found they are not only for those who need to know the truth about eternity. This book has moved me spiritually and taught me so much about myself. I urge you to read it. It is written with such compassion, understanding and love. Thank you James so much.
