Make Sure Base Station is in a Room where Roomba Often Goes
We’ve had the Roomba E5 for a month, and overall this vacuum is amazing! Runs up to 2 hours on a charge. Suction is good enough for any standard cleaning needs, and even for a few larger spills or cleanups. Covers 1500 square feet of floor effectively. It is a cumulative effect, so don’t be discouraged if the first run doesn’t get your floor spotless. We run ours (scheduled on the very user friendly app) three times a week. We have hardwood floors with a few area rugs, two dogs and a teenager, and after a few runs our floors were PERFECT, and have stayed that way!Remember this is not a full size upright vacuum cleaner, so don’t expect it to act like one. Run it on a regular schedule, empty the container, and make your floors easily accessible to the robot. It’s dumb, so if something is in its way it will just bounce off and go somewhere else!*IMPORTANT* The unit DOES NOT have mapping capabilities. The only way it will find it’s way back to its charging base is by line-of-site. In other words, it has to randomly get close enough for it’s IR sensor to “see” the charging base. If it doesn’t find it in time, it will die wherever it’s battery runs out. If that happens to be under the couch…. So, PUT THE BASE IN A ROOM THAT THE ROBOT OFTEN ENDS UP IN! For us it’s the kitchen. Lot’s of ways in and out of there, and Roomba ends up there quite a bit. When the battery gets low it will automatically go into homing mode and dock as soon as it’s in range. It’s really satisfying when you hear that happy little chime it makes when it docks and you get that notification on your phone that says “Roomba Has Completed a Job!”

Roomba cleans
Very satisfied on how my roomba cleaned. Disappointed that our didn't even come with one wall barrier I had to keep eye on it so it wouldn't go into certain areas

No More Pet Hair and No Problems!
There are many more Irobot and other brands of robotic vacuums out there to choose from and most with many more features than this one. In my opinion those others just have more possibilities of something malfunctioning and stopping the whole vacuum. This iRobot Roomba E5 (5150) Robot Vacuum is the basic Roomba vacuum whose principal function is to suck up everything in its wake … which I think is the chief function of all of the rest of them. None of them move your furniture or pick up socks or hair ties, you will always have to do that yourself. But this little lady, whom I affectionately call Hazel, keeps our floors clean and free of cat hair. Follow all directions and keep her clean and she’ll do the same for you.

Don't buy. Crappy and no good service
Product came with a funky wheel and makes noise. We requested return and repurchased a second more expensive model. The first one we are still trying to return. They refuse to provide prepaid postage to return their defective product. Which it is. The second upgraded model had mapping issues finally resolved after calls to tech, then a battery issues which took chats, tech calls and about 5 hours in which they claimed they couldn't find the warranty, that Amazons invoice didn't match their records yet they sent fulfilled it. We are supposedly being sent the battery in the second model. Amazon even got involved and has been unhelpful in resolving. this issue after saying that I was right and a prepaid label would be sent. My 9 year old purchased both of these with his own money because he thinks they are so cool. So he has sadly seen how big companies operate. so we have the first effective model sitting and awaiting a prepaid label for return and all I robot and Amazon can do is send chats. We even called Amazon twice. Personally, I will never buy anything else from I robot and I am thinking of also getting rid of Amazon as well. No real customer service, and there A to Z guarantee is also bologna . They give you limited space to explain and then deny your claim without actually talking to you. We called and talked to Amazon employees several times which took a miracle to talk to someone and then no one can see the other chats and then you get handed off to different people if you take a few minutes to respond.Buy a different brand and a new model at a real store!!Update.. Finally got the label after another round of calls but then they took 15+ dollars off of the refund for their defective refurbished product and called it a restocking fee.Shame on yous

Tenewed item when puchased - battery life not good however
Bought this as "renewed - excellent condition" but the battery life is a lot less than an older Roomba I have. Other than that, seems to do the job, just quits really quickly.

Like new condition, powerful suction for pet hair.
Love this Roomba. Was in like brand new condition. I have 2 other robotic vacs one of them is nearing its end of life.. Had Run both of them within last week, put this new powerful vac down picked up pet hair from carpets like it had not been cleaned in a month. We have 2 dogs, 2 cats and a messy parrot it's essential to have a robotic vac like this for daily pick up. For the price you cannot go wrong. Next day delivery was great. If you need help to keep up between deep vacuuming get one of these roombas NOW.

I dunno if I can say enough good things. I was extremely skeptical that this would work and was willing to take a loss just on the chance I wouldn’t have to vacuum anymore. I have carpet and tile in my house so I figured the tile would be fine, but carpet would provide more challenge. The simple answer is no! It rose to the challenge! I was truly shocked and impressed by how much it’s picked up and I run it daily as I have 4 cats in my household. It does get stuck sometimes, but if you run it while you’re there you can just unstick it. My floors are CONSISTENTLY clean now and I never have to deal with the dreaded sensation of crumbs or cat litter on my feet anymore. Just make sure you don’t leave stuff on the floor in the way of the roomba and you’re golden!! If you’re considering this purchase, make it!
