Used For PMP Studying
Purchased this book in preparation for taking the PMP exam. I found it to be really helpful, and very much in line with the content on the exam. This was pretty much the ONLY resource I used to study, and fortunately I passed the exam first try. My approach to tests and studying is very much procrastination based, and I pretty much wait until 5 or 6 days before a test to start studying. Its just always worked for me, so why fix what isnt broken? I do wish i put more time in, and I had some doubts the morning of the exam, but I was lucky enough to get through it.I liked the layout of the book, especially how it was organized by the process groups. I didnt use any other materials, but some reviews for other study books I looked at did not seem to be organized this way. It was relatively easy reading, especially for subject matter that can be painfully boring. If I can get through it, anyone can. I did come across a few grammar errors in the book, which i had read in a couple of other reviews, and it was annoying to see them, but I got over it.Each chapter had lots of good studying questions, and theres a full exam at the end. I found the questions to be in line with what i saw on the exam.It worked for me, it may work for you.

Excellent book..can only read on the kindle device
Great book.. Excellent companion to PMBOK guide.I bought this book thinking that I can read on any device that will run Kindle software such as iphone, ipod touch, ipad, kindle for pc, kindle for mac, etc.. However to my utter frustration and disappointment I can cannot download this book on any other device such as my iphone or my PC.If this is a Kindle format book this should work on any device running Kindle software. I hope Amazon fixes this soon and it is a simple glitch. As far as the content of the book I love formatting and structural method that the book takes you through. It must be noted that you should read PMBOK guide in order to follow the flow of the book. Must read if you are planning to take the PMP exam. Excellent reference for novice as well as expert Project Manager.I only hope that I am able to download this book on my iphone and PC.

PMP Study Aide
This book is the perfect compliment to the 'PMBOK Guide'. What procedures PMI presents with various diagrams in PMBOK, 'PMP in Depth' by Dr. Paul Sanghera clarifies. I especially appreciate the end of chapter sections - Exam's Eye View; Look out; Key Terms and Definitions and Review Questions.Although the PMI certification exam is based upon the 'PMBOK Guide', 'PMP in Depth' organizes the material in a logic manner and clarifies some complicated processes. Sanghera is vigilant about referring to the terminology that PMI is sure to use on the exam. Moreover, 'PMP in Depth' is an excellent resource for any one studying Project Management especially those preparing for the PMI Certification Exam.

Very, very wordy with no value added. Guy likes adjectives.
This book is VERY wordy. You can read and reread a sentence 5 times trying to figure out what it is saying. Here's an brief and simplified example from page 128: "The assumptions and constraints in the project scope statement can affect the project schedule and therefore must be considered in developing the schedule." Why not drop the word project? "The assumptions and constraints in the scope statement can affect the schedule and therefore must be considered in developing the schedule". Constantly uses adjectives that add no value but make the sentences drag on and on and on. The whole book is written like this. Does anybody out there not understand that we are talking about project scope and project schedule?I'll caveat this critique with the fact that you can technically be talking about product scope but the point is the same ... the book is very wordy. I got this book based on PMBOK 4th edition to prepare for buying the same book updated to PMBOK 5th edition (current) but I'm not sure that I want to get the same book by the same author because it's so hard to read.

Does the job
There are a lots of reviews that go back and forth over using Rita's book or another book such as this. I opted to go with Dr. Sanghera's book for my self-study for the exam and passed on the first attempt. This book may not work for everyone, so find one that fits your style of learning. With that, there are two thoughts to share:1. This book does an excellent job of rearranging PMBOK into a logical order of learning. Some of the chapters cover multiple interrelated topics, and a couple could have arguably been sorted into separate chapters due to an overly weak correlation between the topics, but overall this did not detract from the effectiveness of the book. If you want an easier-to-read version of the PMBOK, this is the book for you.2. The final exam in the back of the book was similar in difficulty to the real deal.

Very useful guide for the PMP exam and for future reference
This book provides a well organized guide for the PMP exam. It complemented the training I took very nicely. In addition, it is an ongoing valuable reference source for Project Management in general. As noted by some other reviewers, it's not perfect, however, compared to the PMBOK, I found it very readable and usable. I'm glad that I bought it. My favorite chapter, which was covered extensively on the exam, is Monitoring and Controlling Projects (Ch 7). The Earned Value Technique (EVT) examples and formulas are understandable and helpful.

Another PMBOK
I would like to thank Mr. Sanghera for his boring Deep PMP exam. The style is monotone. I do not understand why do people insist to add to collection of all boring PMP books. Yes, there are a few process groups and knowledge areas. Good to know. The real life project management cannot be confined to PMI's frame. Different industries have different challenges and hence they require different type project managers. I cannot imagine a project manager who has worked in Oil&Gas industry to change to construction or IT by studying PMBok/Deep PMP or any other book on PMP.
