I purchased a smaller version without knowing how much I would love this in my sewing room. When I saw this one, I knew it would fit my table perfectly and provide me with even more space for pressing. As a quilter, a wool mat is an absolute must have for pressing seams without creasing.

This mat is exactly what I needed. It is excellent quality, received it quickly, and is a great price.

Coupling this with light steam and a clapper gives me flat seams which is essential for free-motion quilting. The only problem I had was that it was leaving a residue on my iron, so I wrapped it with some scrap fabric so the iron is not touching it directly. No more residue.

I have been using this wool pressing mat for the last couple weeks for all of my pressing. I had heard wonders about wool mats and how much faster and cleaner things ironed, but I was content with my tabletop ironing board for the most part. I never liked pulling out my full size board, as it was a hassle, and I liked the convenience of the smaller option. Well a couple weeks ago, I upgraded my sewing station to a desk with a pull out “L” that is roughly 22” x 15”. I initially knew that I would use this extension for holding the weight of my quilts and giving me more workspace in general. Then I found this mat, and for the size and price, I just had to give it a shot. When I pull out the desk extension, I set this mat on there, and I can do a quick press in the middle of my project without having to haul out and set up any size ironing board. And I have never seen fabric press so quickly and perfectly. When I’m done pressing, I sometimes like to set my hands down flat on the mat and feel all of the warmth radiate back into my hands - it’s like a warm hug. The included notions bag is cute, and I don’t penalize the product for this, but the notions are definitely of lower quality than the mat, and I probably would not use them personally, but they do make a nice backup set just in case.TL;DR - This mat is fantastic, it fits in small spaces, is super convenient, and best of all, it gets perfect presses every time!

I quilt a lot and was looking for something like this. Size is right, thickness likewise. I’ve noticed when I use the steam action the bottom part gets cooler ( not wet). I lean on its side to let air flow between top and lower portion and it’s good to go. It did have a funky mild smell at first but either I’ve gotten used to it or just dissipated.

The wool mat is used for pressing quilt blocks, the wool is high quality, great value.

This is the greatest. I sew mostly clothing with knits. Branching out to wovens. This large size fits perfectly on the end of my sewing and cutting table (old small rectangular dining table). I hated pressing before when I had the crappiest ironing board. This works amazing. Yes, it has a smell at first. Yes, it goes away (or you get used to it? Idk). Doesn’t bother me at all.

The width of this pad works with my ironing board, so I can use it without major rearranging in my home. Perfect for the piece quilters who only need a small surface to press the seams.

This mat is definitely worth the money, even though it’s expensive for an pressing mat, but it’s a very good natural compressed wool, I have covered the mat with cloth to give me smoother surface wet hike working on it, very happy with it and it’s good value for money, I am however pretty sure this mat will last a long time if you cover it with a cloth to prevent it from hot iron. definitely recommend this specially if you artisan

Great for quilting. Perfect size

I bought this for my wife as a birthday present, she does lots of quilting and other stitchery, she tells me that this mat is absolutely fabulous and it is far better than 'hard base' type mats that she has used for ages beforehand. She says; it is soft and pliable, holds the heat well and offers great protection to the metrials that she is ironing (she does work with some very intricate and delicate cloths), so go get one.

Good thickness, retains heat well. As described, I am very happy with this product.
