ESSPolarized Gray Polarized Safety Glasses, Scratch-Resistant

These glasses excel in three major categories for me; Comfort, Protective Rating, and Style.I have been wearing ESS crossbows now for nearly two years all together. I exercise in them, walk, run, and shoot as well. I own several models of the crossbow models, but primarily wear smoke polarized lens with black frame.I spend a considerable time outside and at this point, I rely on these glasses wholeheartedly. I receive compliments on the style of them, and as someone who has problems with light, these glasses help out a lot. (Photophobia)My girlfriend uses prescription glasses. ESS did not, or could not offer her prescription. When I called in, I eventually got a hold of their prescription lens designers and they were able to fill a prescription for her.It took them a while to fill it, but they did not charge a dime until the shipping labels we're on the box. Even though it was a custom order, they didn't charge any extra than the usual price for prescribed lens. I bought her a prescribed lens for a clear lens type.For those who don't know, ESS is a brand that is immediately recognized with military. Revision, and certain lines of Oakleys are commonly issued out to our service members. If you wear these, you will be approached by other veterans seeing who you are. Not in an aggressive Stolen Valor way, but just to see what your story is, if there is a story. In short, you're slipping into the military Affiliated community if you are not already. This is a good thing in my opinion. This further extends to LEO and second amendment friendly people. These are primarily shooting glasses after all...A common issue I found with these glasses, replacing lenses, or interchanging between frames is easy. Though there are the small Wings located on the upper outer edges of the lenses. These Wings insert into the frame. These Wings Are easily warped and bent. Owning several lenses with accompanying frames, I do swap out my suppressor frames pretty often for shooting / qualifying. In my experience, I haven't managed to break them yet. Though they do warp rather easily.The second issue is the nosepiece. Doesn't matter what lens you have, all these pieces are the same black rubber type. The nosepiece attaches to the lens nice and firmly, the rubber feels loose and comfortable. The recurring issue I have is that the rubber appears to fall off from the attachment frame. Replacing them is cheap. Reason why it's still five stars is because you can still wear it even if the rubber part has fallen off. The attachment is wearable. Personally, I use super glue to keep them all together.A third issue is when the lens starts to age. When it does, it starts to peel a little. You don't lose the tint, but there is like a wax type texture that peels from the cover of the lens. This process happens faster if you use rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer to clean your lenses. So make sure you use eyeglass friendly wives, or Nano fiber cloth. Don't use your shirt, or any other rougher surface to "scrub" the surface. You only enhance its wear and tear process if you do. Also, I have an ESS ICE clear frame from the Army, and these are also peeling. Must be in ESS thing. The ICE lense is about a decade old.The claim about anti fogging is true. However it will most definitely fog up temporarily if going to be in an extreme temperature changing environment. It won't always do it, but you just have to take glasses off and shake them a couple times and your good to go. You do not have to wipe them.STORYWhat motivated me to write this review today is something that happened to me yesterday. Basically, I was getting picked up by my girlfriend and she has the situational awareness of an ant within a hive.Because she was taking so long, I started to walk home. I saw her driving by me as I was walking home. I waved. one arm, then with two arms, but to no avail. There are other cars on the road and this is a two-lane road.I took off my polarized lens from my face and I proceeded to throw it at my vehicle that my girlfriend was driving. To my surprise, it flew very smoothly in the air and hit the window of the car, exactly where I was aiming.Then it bounced off the window, and landed in the street. There was a blue Honda Civic and it ran over my glasses. It got crushed between the front, and then the back wheel going about 25 miles per hour.When the front wheel crush the glasses, it totally flattened out and when the wheel finished crushing it... The glasses took form again and bounced up and hit the bottom of the car. Then the back wheel had its turn. It got flattened again, then took form and bounce back up. Basically, it bounced from the front to the back wheel.After this I was able to retrieve my glasses, and to my surprise it was in perfect form. Not even a scratch. This was on an asphalt road too.So when I say unbelievably durable, I have never seen glasses go through that and still be able to wear the next day at work like nothing happened.That's all I got, I hope this helps.All pictures are after it being ran over.

I was issued a pair in 2006 in the army and keep them for riding until they got to scratched up. I replaced them with a new set in January and the snapped when a bug hit them while doing 50 mph. I don't know if you changed the material or if the polarized lenses are just weaker or if I just got a bad pair but my old ones had been hit by bugs hundreds of times over the course of years and other than some scratches never had a problem.

Plainly best sunglasses I've ever had. I have nothing to complain.

Looks great, fits great and the Polarized Lens are awesome.

I opened up the case and it was empty. No sunglasses.
