NUKFirst Essentials Soft-Bite Infant Spoons, 4-Pack

In my pictures, the 2 spoons on the side are the Munchkin brand ones, and the ones in the middle are these NUK spoons.I wanted another set of baby spoons for my 6 month old, and didn't want to get the same exact ones I already had (Munchkin). Thought I would see what's out there. So I got these, that look almost the same online but when they arrived I could see the crazy difference.First of all, they don't change color in hot/cold water...I thought they did just like my other spoons. But that's something I could've gotten past. But secondly, These are thin, flimy, small pieces of cheap metal with super cheap colored pieces of rubber that arrived with the bottoms of the rubber already ripping apart (Hopefully you can tell that from my pictures, whereas the Munchkin spoons I have are quality baby spoons. I would not use this for my baby. I sealed them right back up to return.

I love love love these spoons! So much so, that I came on here just write this review! They are exactly what I was looking for for a first spoon to start my 4.5 month old off on purées. They remind me of the ones I was used to growing up. They are very durable. I put them in the dishwasher in the silverware rack when I first got them and set it to sanitize mode, which is very hot, and they held up just fine. They are soft and gummy and the baby loves to chew on them which makes feeding her easier. The tip is small and angled just right for tiny mouths. I also let her choose which color she wants before we start eating (I give her 2 options). The bright colors make it fun. Finally, I love that they are not top heavy! Despite the long metal handles, I set them in these tiny little Tupperware containers I bought just to hold small amounts of purée, and they don’t topple the dish! They are easy to clean too. I am definitely going to be buying more of these.

Perfect spoons for beginning feeds. Had other spoons that were too deep and didn’t work well at all. The spoon portion of these are shallow and allow baby to get a full spoon full. The silicone tips are great for preventing injury to gums/teeth when baby bites down. These have been such an improvement i wish i started with these. Would definitely recommend.

The soft spoon part was peeling off after one wash and would be dangerous for the baby. They are SO cheap and bend /break extremely easily. They just say made in China on the back. Ours were terrible. I normally like the NUK brand but these only said first essentials on the front.

These are great! Ordered these because my daughter has feeding issues and couldn’t use the other baby spoons very well. Tried these and she’s done fantastic with them. Smaller, softer, and convenient. So if you have a special needs child (specifically low muscle tone) like I do and you’re having feeding difficulties I recommend getting these. Still using at 17 months old (if that helps anyone)
