Toshiba Canvio Slim 1Tb Aluminium Portable External Hard Drive USb 3.0

When I used the storage for the first time , I found a pdf file named “instruction manual for safety and comfort” dated 06 October 2016 and another pdf file named “ toshiba canvio basics” dated 05 Dec 2017.What does it mean???? Is it a used item before or brand new????Kindly clarify

Good hard disk.. product as per image... strong as I have already thrown it down 3 times... fast in transferring data for PS5...

It works well. It looks original - seeing that it is.I loved the warning note in it.

Unless you have a spare HDD USB cable, I wouldn't recommend getting this as the USB cable quality is terrible and disconnects occasionally (every 15 minutes or so in my case)

Da una mia statistica personale, avendo a che fare con una marea di materiale informatico per via del mio lavoro, ho riscontrato che i dischi Hitachi e Toshiba da 2.5" sono quelli che si danneggiano con maggior frequenza.Inoltre questo modello così come i suoi predecessori presenta l'interfaccia USB saldata direttamente sul disco! Questo significa che non c'è modo di collegare ad una normale interfaccia SATA il disco che sta all'interno, cosa che mi fa atterrire in quanto:- Non c'è un'interfaccia fra il disco ed il cavo, che spesso fa da "parafulmine" nel caso di problemi elettrici o più semplicemente di rotture meccaniche del connettore! Se si rompe la presa USB in un qualsiasi HDD esterno, si può sempre collegare il disco ad un normale PC; con il Toshiba vi potete dimenticare di farlo.- Il recupero dati nella condizione di cui sopra è altamente compromesso, quindi ci penserei due volte prima di caricare foto e video su questo coso;- Se per esempio avreste la necessità di usare il disco che sta al suo interno su una PlayStation 4 o un notebook, potete scordarvelo.Non solo questo modello è affetto da questo "problema" dell'interfaccia che ho descritto fino ad ora, ma presenta anche peggioramenti assurdi rispetto al precedente modello! Tralasciando il discorso cavo, che non ritengo un problema in quanto la maggior parte di questi prodotti hanno il filo piuttosto corto, Toshiba ha usato un case ancora più plasticoso e scadente, ha eliminato i piedini di gomma e soprattutto il disco, dopo due ore di test della superficie era tutt'altro che fresco! Un disco di tecnologia recente non scalda in questo modo, non ci siamo proprio.Le prestazioni almeno sono in linea con altri prodotti: sul mio PC col modello da 1 TB ho rilevato velocità di lettura sequenziale da 138 MB/sec a 58 MB/sec con tempi di accesso medi di 18.5 ms. Un pò deludenti invece le prestazioni in scrittura, ma questi test lasciano sempre il tempo che trovano in quanto il PC su cui girano è determinante.Comunque non lo consiglio davvero a nessuno, ma se alla fine volete prenderlo per via del prezzo, perché vi fidate del marchio o non vi frega nulla dei tecnicismi di cui ho parlato, almeno puntate sul taglio più piccolo che potete in base alle vostre esigenze...Una densità di dati troppo alta su un disco simile rende le informazioni registrate instabili.E' veramente triste che un brand come Toshiba abbia risparmiato praticamente su tutto per realizzare un prodotto simile. Se non fosse perché alla fine fa il suo lavoro, personalmente avrei votato solo una stella; i prodotti dove vengono salvati i propri dati personali DEVONO essere progettati bene, e questo non è un esempio da seguire.

Do not buy this product! I purchased one, plugged it in and moved all of my documents onto it as backup only to have them completely disappear within a month!I have tried to get product support but nobody is able to help! The latest is that I have been given a number for product support when actually it goes through to Tina Webb's voicemail. The support guy said that that is the number that he has been using. WILD GOOSE CHASE!!!I am gutted that I have lost my money for a device that doesn't work and also all of my files including my photos of my new born baby.DO NOT BUY

Perfect for purpose.Basically I bought a new LG 2018 4K Smart TV and needed the option to record. (I'm relying a lot on the built in tuner etc rather than a dedicated box.) This item came with some good reviews.Have tried and tested (just plugged and played into USB port 1) No formatting needed. If your smart TV has the feature of being able to record then an HDD like this should be perfectly suitable for you. Once recorded you can have option to pause/rewind. Very nice and essentially completes the setup for me (I am trying to avoid bulky set top boxes)This item is also much smaller than I thought. Am currently looking at a way to secure it to the back of the television (similar to an HDD bracket for PC) Would be much tidier this way.I believe it also works fine for Samsung TV's. So expect it will work for all brands (AS long as your TV supports recording (many don't))

Gehöre leider auch zu denen die mit einem sehr schnellen Ausfall der Festplatte leben müssen. Nach knapp zwei Wochen fing das mehrfach beschriebene Klacken an und die Festplatte fiel aus. Da sich darauf berufliche Daten befanden, ist für mich ein einfacher Umtausch nicht möglich, weshalb ich mit dem Kaufpreis, als Verlustgeschäft, leben muss.Da ich zeitgleich, bei der Suche nach mobilen Lösungen, mit einem USB-Stick von Toshiba schlechte Erfahrungen gemacht habe, werde ich zukünftig einen großen Bogen, um die Produktkette machen.Leider nimmt die Qualität insgesamt bei den Anbietern ab bzw. die Preise steigen erheblich, wenn man verlässliche Datenträger sucht.In meinem Fall ist Toshiba definitiv aus dem Rennen.

Dies ist meine vierte toshiba festplatte und ich hatte noch nie probleme, von wegen hält nur zwei monate. Bei mir laufen die 500 gb, 1tb, 2tb seit jahren und diese 4tb hält ihr versprechen bereits seit nem halben jahr. Ich kann die negativen rezensionen nicht bestätigen und lasse mich von sowas auch nicht irritieren. Man muß doch immer etwas vorsichtig sein mit den rezensionen und nicht immer gleich irgendwem die schuld geben, bloß weil man zu blöd ist, geräte zu benutzen, sorry, mußte mal gesagt werden...
