It works GREAT! The BEST for stick incense!!!
I absolutely love this holder that I got for a great value. It has 6 different & perfectly-sized holes in the middle for all the diff sizes of stick incenses that are out there! So far, I have used 5 diff brands of incense & allllll in this one single holder & it works wonderfully w each diff brand.I like that it can do all that & do it well!!!All without wobbling or falling over all very ez too w not much fussing w it. It is very steady and a pretty reliable little holder for the price too. Plus, it’s pretty and ez to clean up also.Lastly, I like that it can split into two dishes too! So just a real great buy - all the way around- in my opinion, and I am just super happy w this purchase!!! So much so that I actually may get another 1 for my daughter as a gift…

Beautiful, But Not Quite 4 Inches
Beautiful copper tone and detail of the lotus! Selling point: the various hole sizes and easy cleanup. I retired my coffin shaped holder due to the holes sometimes not fitting the GONESH type incense and messy appearance. The flower can be tapped into the composter, rinsed and dried. Since I burn incense everyday with my morning coffee and crossword puzzle before work. This holder is a definite and aesthetic trade up from my jelly jar with sand, however. . .I did three things wrong. I didn't read the description well enough (the description wasn't 100% accurate anyway), didn't read the reviews, and I made an impulse purchase.Maybe other reviewers covered this, but the flower is closer to 3-1/2" than 4", but not a huge deal breaker. I didn't read the reviews.I bought the holder on impulse while shopping for additional incense and liked the look of the lotus flower over the less ornate cup shaped holders without really thinking about if it served the purpose--catching the ashes. The incense stick needs to be standing as straight up as possible and no moving air or the ashes fall outside the petals.I can't say if I still would have bought the holder with proper knowledge. It's a very pretty holder and for now, it's sitting in a shallow plastic cap about six inches across and serving the purpose quite well.

Not so great for incense with bamboo core, but almost perfect for Japanese style incense
Works pretty good, hasn't broken or burnt too much and I've been using it quite frequently for many months for Japanese style sticks. If you're not using a bowl with ash or rocks or whatever, this is a good cheap alternative. Although one complaint is that I only use the three biggest holes, and the others are too small to fit anything really. Although I assume you could put incense with bamboo core in these smaller holes, given the small diameter of the product you're likely to get ash all over so it is probably better to use flat burners for those. Also to note that the top flower part comes off to give a wider base, which could probably be used to burn cones/coils on. Overall, a solid product that has earned it's keep many times over.

Cool design concept, poor execution
Going straight into the problems:The diameter is about 1"-2" too short. As the incense ash falls down, it lands right on the corner of those inner leafs, which can cause it to bounce off the entire collection tray. So you are going to want to put a plate under this if you don't want the ash piling up on the table you have it on. The point of this ash catcher, for me, was to catch the ash so I don't have to use a tray though, so it completely fails at doing its job because they made it too small. There are multiple sized holes for different sized sticks, which is a big plus, but if you put your stick in a hole that's a little too snug, then when you go to remove it it will pull the entire top layer of the catcher with it (this catcher is two pieces, one on top of the other) and if there's ash on that part then obviously it just creates a mess. So you will want to use a hole that is actually a little bigger than the stick, which then causes the stick to sit at an angle instead of straight up, which further causes problem #1 of the catcher not catching the ash. This could be fixed if the top pieces locked into the bottom piece.Aside from those two design flaws, I do like having multiple hole sizes so I can always trust whatever incense I get will fit, and the aesthetics is attractive. If I had to buy one again I would pick something else though, and I really wouldn't recommend this over other ones.

Multi-piece unit, lightweight but beautiful
This simple stick or cone burner is a Lotus flower design, with layers that come apart fo cleaning.Should last generatons if not crushed or damaged.Lightweight but sturdy, and ash dows not always fall onto burner top surface, so be careful of placing on sheets, cloth, paper, or soft wood surfaces.Once purchased, will outlast me on this plain.

Not suited for its purpose and possibly dangerous.
This is easily the worst incense burner I've ever bought. The base is not wide enough to reliably catch falling ashes, making it outright dangerous to use, as burning ash can fall off onto the surface underneath or off of a table. The ash is usually cool when it sloughs off and will just make a mess, but sometimes it isn't, and still smolders for a bit, meaning it could spark a fire if you're unlucky or don't use it on a ceramic plate. The incense holder itself is a small wheel with holes of different diameters to accommodate different sizes of incense, but none of the holes are deep enough to reliably hold the stick, so situating it perfectly vertically is nearly impossible, and it sits so loosely sometimes that it's nearly at risk of tipping over onto your carpet. What's more, is that the holder isn't even secured to the base in any way, it just loosely sits. It looks like there should be some kind of fastener to hold it, but mine didn't come with anything, just the base and holder that sit loosely with each other. I recommend buying any other burner.

Beautiful!
It's honestly so beautiful, the material seems sturdy enough. Cleaning it it's not a big deal. And it even has several holes of different sizes for the incense. I loved it.
