An excellent album from the DIXIE Chicks before Natalie went completely left, & the sisters caved and ruined the group's name. I love their music & I just ignore the other nonsense.

Hab mir die CD gekauft, da ich bereits eine früheres Album besitze und mir die Songs sehr gut gefallen. Sie sind keine reinen Countrysongs sondern orientieren sich mehr am Popsound. Ich mag die Schwestern sehr und lege sie gerne bei längeren Autofahrten auf, weil das einfach entspannt.

Packaging: Amazon did a great job packaging the vinyl with airbags. No complaints this time. Absolutely satisfied. Well done!!! The vinyl: A gatefold. First time on vinyl. This is an amazing record, arguably their best. The sound is amazing too. Listening it on vinyl makes it so much of a better experience. Highly recommended. Go buy it on vinyl.

1998年発売のメジャーデビューアルバム。不世出の天才ナタリーの歌を活かす完成度の高い楽曲ばかりだ。カントリーっぽいアレンジのバラード曲が多い。それにしてもナタリーの声はいいなぁ。美しい音色を持つソロ楽器みたいだ。太くてパワフルな中低域もいいけど、輝くような響きになる高音域がたまらなく美しい。曲が良いこともあって、何度聴いても飽きない。ナタリーのリードボーカルとエルウィン姉妹のハーモニーはひたすら耳に心地良い。このアルバムは、Dixie Chicksのというより、音楽史上に残る大傑作アルバムだと思う。こういうアルバムに出遭うと、音楽が好きで良かったなぁとしみじみ感じる。 1はカントリーロックのシブい曲。所々でさりげなく入るエルウィン姉妹との三声ハーモニーがとても美しい。2,4,11はライブ盤でも演奏されたメジャーキーのカントリーナンバー。特に2はSome Days You Gatta Danceと並んでライブ盤で大好きだった曲。スタジオ盤でもやはり良い。3,5,6,9,10はポップなバラード。どれも素晴らしい出来。7,8は明るいカントリー。12はポップなカントリーブルーズ。12曲全曲がベストトラックと言っても過言ではない奇跡的なクオリティーのアルバムだ。
