Not comfortable as excepted

Bought these for my Dad as these are pretty much the only style of shoes he wears - he said they were "wonderful, just like my old ones only new!" 😂 My Dad can be a bit of a picky customer at times so if he says they're wonderful, take his (and my) word for it! 😉

When I opened the box, right away I really liked the way this shoe looks. It's very well made, the color is rich and it looks like a shoe that would be far more expensive than it is.When I tried them on, they fit very well and I was impressed with how comfortable they were (on the bottom of the shoe) to stand on.However, that is where the "good" part ends. If you notice from the picture of the shoe, there is a seem that runs across the top of the shoe just under the shoe string. That seem causes a lot of pain on the top of your foot when you walk. If you simply stand still, not walking, they are fine, however once you walk in them the seem is so ridged that there is no give and it doesn't take long for them to start hurting. I've worn them three times to work and even started to notice how uncomfortable they are even when I was sitting at my desk.I really wanted to love these shoes, from an appearance point of view they are great, but I would not purchase them again because they are just too uncomfortable to wear. As I mentioned they are well made, perhaps too well made as the seem has no flexibility... at least for me.So, if you decide to purchase them wear them around the house for a bit to see if you experience the same issue I did so if you need to, you can return them. If I hadn't worn them to work I would have returned them.
