Averages 60 FPS; Imagine 4 Stryfe blasters instead of this 1 Cam ECS blaster, then read my review.
60 feet per second (FPS) stock as measured by my ProChrono Digital chronograph, but at peak rev. Quieter than most other flywheel blasters, but has too long of a barrel, and I speculate that too much barrel drag is robbing this blaster of FPS/ dart ranges. It would seem that it is basically a Nerf Stryfe with a fixed front barrel and shoulder stock. The key defining feature between the Nerf Cam ECS and the legendary Stryfe "flywheeler" is the very low quality camera (0.03 Megapixel I believe, ill). I cannot begin to tell you how bad this is (I got this as a gift from my sister who wanted to finish my vast collection), so bad that there is probably a hate club out there that exists just to hate this blaster. They have their points that it is nowhere near worth the money and that Hasbro is totally unjustified in charging as much as they are for something with near-worthless camera electronics. For me, the lines of the blaster shell are nice and IMHO it is a "looker." Their is a top tactical rail and an under barrel tactical rail next to a comfortable handle grip. The ergonomics of this blaster are adequate, but the weight from the eight AA alkaline batteries it requires to run the camera (4 AA in the left side panel power the camera, 4 AA in the right panel power the flywheels, all of which are not included with the blaster) make this blaster too heavy for younger or smaller users. The side-jam access door (like the Raider, Rampage, and Stormtrooper Deluxe blaster) is a nice feature, although I have yet to have a jam. There is a glare-shroud that fails in it's only function, which is to block the sunlight from shining on the screen so you can watch your footage. Luckily, you can remove it at will if it gets in the way of your aim. But really, you cannot see much on the small screen anyway, so no loss really. Anyway, I plan to give the Cam ECS a makeover and overhaul later on, but for now I can tell you that just with 3 LiFePo4 3.2v AA batteries and a dummy spacer and no other modifications I was able to squeeze out a 90 FPS average velocity reading. From 60-90 is a big jump, and I anticipate the motors will spool up faster without the resistors to slow it down or thermistor to stop it when it gets too hot. I am sure I t will operate more smoothly when I remove the electronic and mechanical locks/limiters. As a disclaimer, modify this blaster at your own risk, as there are many small parts that make this one of the hardest blasters to take apart and put back together. Also, the higher voltage will put undue stress on the stock components, wearing it out to a quicker death. I would have liked to give this blaster more stars, but it's premium cost and multiple shortcomings force me to honestly rate this would-be flagship Nerf blaster of yesteryear poorly. In the future it is my hope that Hasbro and Nerf play to the strengths that this blaster brought without the high cost and low quality equipment, and create similar looking blasters (like the Modulus ECS 10 blaster) that most if not all people can appreciate and enjoy.

AWESOME NEW NERF N-STRIKE ELITE WITH BUILT-IN-CAMERA
I purchased this for my son for a Xmas gift this past Xmas 2014. I happened upon it somehow on the Internet or something and it caught my attention because my son loves Nerf guns and needed a new one. As I read on I was surprised that this was a new Nerf gun with a camera for the kids to record their action and then view it later. It was funny because my son just about a week before I stumbled on this new Nerf gun made the comment as he was playing with one of his other Nerf guns that it would be cool to be able to record when he's playing with his friends and stuff if only there was a way to put a camera on it. OMG!!! I couldn't believe it when I saw this one!!! So I decided to purchase it for my son and was looking on the Internet at prices for comparison. I was happy again to find that it was on sale on Amazon for about half the original price which was about $80 before taxes and shipping!!!! I couldn't find it in stores to buy so this was great!!! My son was so excited when he opened this gift on Xmas morning. He was like "OMG I WAS JUST SAYING I WISH THEY MADE A NERF GUN WITH A CAMERA ON IT". So he's had this new Nerf gun since Xmas and LOVES it!!! Easy to start recording and stop recording. The camera will automatically turn itself off after about a minute of no use. You just pop out the SD card and insert it into the SD slot on your computer and you can watch your game play!!! My son and I give this new Nerf gun a 5 STAR RATING!!!!!

Awsome Gun + easy upgrade tip
This gun is so awesome...it is probably my most favorite nerf gun. I have owned many nerf guns (rapid strike, rampage, triad, roughcut, strongarm, and many of the older models) but I feel that this one is the most balanced. This gun is all around great with amazing range, awesome camera, and it feels very comfortable (for the larger players out there it will have a almost bullpup feel). It takes AA batteries. The only downside is the price (I got it on sale for $40) but if you can afford it definitely get it. A really easy upgrade is to buy two ultrafire batteries for the motor and then put two regular batteries with them and your range and accuracy will increase dramatically.
