I use this to connect a newer iPhone 12 to an older stereo that only has an old-style 30-pin connector for an old iPod. It works great - charges the phone at the same time as playing my music.

Plug it in and nothing happens! The review could end right there but I want to specify, I'm connecting from an older model of iHome clock to my current iPhone to recharge the phone during the night. Both of those devices still work with my older adapter cable. I was just buying a spare, like a good Boy Scout. You know, "Be Prepared!" is the Boy Scout motto. That old cable is about a 1/4" in diameter. This new one is so thin it's hard to imagine wire any bigger than a bread tie inside. I suspect it might string in there, rather than something that can conduct electricity. When I connect it, my iPhone doesn't even acknowledge it's there by showing the Lightning Bolt recharging icon. I'll probably return it and try and get a refund, but I'm tempted to dissect it and see if the "cable" actually includes any wire.

This adapter works to charge and for audio transmission. The car we bought has a audio cord in the center console (30 pin) so now I can connect my iPhone to the in car stereo system.

Excellent product, I would buy it again

Came with 2 of them. Probably to increase your chances of getting one that actually works. Neither one work. Not for charging, not for anything. Phone doesn’t even register that it’s plugged in. Don’t buy it, fork out the little extra for a higher quality one.

I don’t know if the cable doesn’t work or if the stereo doesn’t accept this cable.

Pour brancher mon iPhone sur la radio et faire jouer de la musique sur le iPhone, cet adaptateur, acheté pour remplacer celui que j'avais et faisait occasionnellement défaut, ne fonctionne pas du tout. Gaspillage absolu du prix d'achat.

This connect my iPhone to my old radio - it’s the old fitting to the latest size fitting. I use this to charge only (at night) not to play music through. Hope that makes sense & helps.

This simply does not connect and is a scam of a product. Its flimsy and doesn't align with the male counterpart. Fail.

Das Kabel sollte zur Verbindung Apple 30polig auf Lightning dienen. Die Stecker passen mechanisch perfekt, ab keinerlei elektronische Funktion. Das Laden funktioniert nicht und überhaupt keine Funktion, an keiner Seite ist irgend eine Reaktion zu erkennen.
