Consider checking solder joints
Fit as advertised for me on a 2006 F150 fX4 Great replacement piece for the price. If your gear shifter is having issues going from park to drive though consider checking the solder joints on the safety switch box located further down on the side of your entire assembly I had cracked solder joints causing the shifter to intermittently become stuck in park.

Works nice to have decent feeling knob.
One go watch videos to figure out the install process on this. It' a pain in the backside. The red plastic piece in the top does NOT hold the tab out far enough, I spend over a hour fishing my spring out of this unit after a failed first attempt to install. However; it does look good and feels solid. The fit is a little loose on mine but I can't tell if that is from this unit or Ford's design on this. I'm satisfied with the overall and can't really blame the manufactor for Ford's silly design where simple recessed set screw would have million times eaiser and keep the unit rock solid instead of the design Ford when with to avoid the screw showing.

Perfect fit! Only took a little over an hour and a dozen or so curse words and voila! Nice, new shift knob thingy installed.Note there are no screws involved in this install. Make sure you watch the correct YouTube video. You will pop the lover chrome piece down using a flathead screw driver or brute force, then do the same with black plastic frame right under that chrome plastic piece. Pull the old knob straight up, leave the spring in place. Install new knob while holding the button out. Release button and move knob up and down until the button pops into place. Pull black plastic frame piece up and pop into place, pull chrome plastic piece up and pop into place. Try not to pull the knob upward while you're doing these last 2 steps otherwise curse a bunch and start over. Repeat as needed. Treat this new knob like the precious thing it is.

DO NOT BUY
When I removed the top piece the one of the 3 tabs was broken. It would not lock into place with the lower portion. It was loose and now I have to go buy another one because I need the truck now.
