not insulated...stays hot a little longer with lid,but i wouldn't recommend if your looking to keep coffee hot like insulated cups.don't misunderstand this cup is beautiful and well worth the price and my tea with lid on stays hot long enough to drink it all gone.

Q: what is the measurement from the base to the bottom of the handle.I am actually after a cup that will go in couch cup holder need 3" clearance
