A true carnival experience (said my parakeets)!
I really wanted our parakeets to have the carnival/fair experience, and nothing helps them achieve that like this bell! Just like that sledgehammer strength test game at the fair, this has many delightfully enjoyable functions (my birds have told me). The parakeets must pull down on the string with all their strength and let go to ring the bell. I'm not quite sure they have accomplished yet, but they clearly like trying. The toy seems very durable after repeated use. I inspect them periodically to ensure their safety, and thus far there are no issues after several weeks of repeated attempts to win the grand prize. Despite the fact that I do not believe they have been successful at ringing the bell, I do give them "participant" prizes periodically to ensure they don't give up hope. It is important for them to maintain their pride :)

Expected Better For The Money
This is an extremely clever and attractive bird toy. But I expected better quality for the price. The operating mechanism reminds me of the springed ball launcher in a pinball machine. If only the tone produced by the bell were even a fraction as pleasant.Unfortunately, the bell does not ring nor ding at all. I'm not even sure if the sound it makes can be called a "clack." It just sounds like junk rattling inside cheap plastic. This toy is supposed to be the bird version of a carnival "Ring-The-Bell" game. But with a bell the doesn't "ding," it's disappointing.Fortunately, budgies are far less critical. They're also not the ones paying for it.

My bird loves this toy!
I didn't know if my bird would like this, but so far this is his favorite toy. Iv'e only seen him play with the little ball a few times. He mainly loves to just look at the mirror and chat/sing. He might play with it more when I'm not looking, he's kind of shy.The quality is like a typical bird toy. You can't beat it for the price!

Happy Bird
So many pet toys are designed with the owner in mind, and this toy is no different. I bought this because, like anyone else, I pictured my parakeet pulling on the chain and ringing the bell. This never happens. Parakeets have probably never been to a carnival and watched us humans pound on the Strong Man game's plate to hit the bell! The concept eludes them. The bell doesn't make the ringing sound we think it should, anyway. It just sounds like a plastic "dink."With that said, my parakeet LOVES his Strong Bird toy! He plays with the metal chain a lot, not the blue plastic ball but the chain. The mirror is full length and he can get right up against it. I'll probably never see him hit the bell, but who cares. Its supposed to be about him, not me.Mikey loves this toy, so I rate it well. I don't give it five stars because the bell is wasted on him--its just a selling point for us humans. I still recommend this to anyone wanting to please his/her little birdie!
