Rockford FosgatePrime R2SD2-12 Single R2S Slim 12" 2-Ohm DVC Shallow Subwoofer - 250 Watts RMS / 500 Watts Peak

I purchased one of these subwoofer about a month ago, and its been awesome! I've got one of these subs behind the seat of my 88 Chevy single cab bridged on a crunch p1 1050.2 and it hits toooo hard. It shakes the crap out of all my mirrors and the back glass shakes so hard! I've only got the gain and the bass eq about a quarter way but it handles the power so well. I highly recommend this subwoofer to somebody who wants an outstanding subwoofer at a great price. Only as long as you've got enough power, powering it!

Dollar for dollar, this sub offers a lot of positives that are hard to match elsewhere. It was also one of the few that could replace VW's Fender audio subwoofer with no other modifications (except an enclosure). It adds a much deeper, louder, and less distorted bass using the wires that already run from the factory amp, eliminating the need to run power from the car's battery, speaker wire, line output converters, anything!Will it win a competition or announce your arrival with bass across the parking lot? Probably not. Does it give the factory system a whole lot more heft for a small amount of money and work compared to other solutions? Definitely.

I bought 2 and have them in a non ported box that is .75 cubic foot per sub, connected to an SSL EV5000D Evolution Series 5000-watt Class D amp. They have been gradually getting louder as they break in.Pros: The bass they produce can rattle your teeth and tickle the hair on the back of your head.I use these in the trunk of my 2005 Mazda Rx8 and they still produce a decent amount of bass.I have tried other subs that just seemed to lack but these do pretty well.Cons: They don't seem to produce the really low bassMay not be a con but they include mounting screws that require an allen bit rather than a regular phillips screwdriver. Allen bit was included but if you lost it, it would be a pain to use a regular allen wrench.

Well I installed this sub into a sealed box that almost exactly matched the air space requirement from Rockford Fosgate. Matched it with a RF amp that also matched the 250wrms @ 2 ohms.. and the sub blew after about a week. If you want real bass figure out a way to get a non-shallow sub to fit one way or the other.

Hooked it up, attached a 400 watt MA Audio amp at first. Lots of sound but not moving my mirror that much at all. Finally got to hook up my new 1200 watt amp and new JVC deck and now... well,... this speaker bumps real hard! Mind you, they don't have the booming bass that a much larger speaker with 3000 watts power handling may have, but they have that deep bass you are looking for. I actually bought 2 and the boxes. After just 1 night of tweaking and setting (As any audiophile knows we are never "completely" done setting that last notch on our system), it shakes the mirrors and even rattles some metal! I have used all kinds of subs and amp and decks, I think I may have found the sweet spot for tight spots. I put these behind a seat, possibly under the seat as soon as I hook up the second speaker. That's right, I said this speaker rattled the entire van, shaking the mirrors inside and out as a single unit, not even a pair... yet.Will update this review after I get the second installed.

Got these as a replacement and for future use in some shallow boxes for behind my rear truck seats. For now, I just dropped them into my woofer box I already had set up. One of my orevious RF Punch subs had popped a cone and rattled like a can. I was anticipating having to compromise some boom with these more shallow subs but man was I wrong! These are actually louder than my previous deep subs. I was extremely surprised at the quality of these speakers and can’t recommend them enough. Get these bad boys and get ready to thump!

Great sound. I had it on my truck running it with a 300 watts amplifier. It lasted for 4 months then started to rattle a bit then eventually the rattle gotten worse but it’s still but out base but I think the voice coils went out. Overall great sound but poorly made.

Purchased these for placing in the trunk of a hardtop convertible (Very little room for the subs to fit when the roof is retracted into the trunk). First, Rockford Fosgate has an incredible web site for DIY install. I used the BoxAdvisor feature on the support link to get an idea of the airspace needed to build my own box. It allows you to select the style you want to build (a wedge for my needs) then provides dimensions to achieve required space. Manipulating these a little I ended up with a perfect fit in the little space I had to work with. Mine are paired to a 1600 watt pioneer amp (so I'm obviously not utilizing the amps full capabilities, but I already had it) and these speakers absolutely ROCK! The sound inside the car is incredible. I would highly recommend these to anyone working in tight spaces but still wanting huge sound.
