This bright colored painting on canvas is much more then a piece of decor. The foot prints on the center of this mandana represents footsteps of goddess 'Lakshmi'. Lakshmi is the god of money and prosperity in Hindu culture. Swastika is a symbol of auspiciousness in many Hindu cultures. In my religious tradition (Jainism), Swastika holds even higher meaning. The four arms of the swastika symbolize the four places where a soul could be reborn in the cycle of birth and death (heaven, hell, humanity and flora or fauna) before the soul attains moksha/salvationa and become free and omniscient Size - 16 X 20 inches.
