Lite Rod
Great rod. Light weight so pair it with a 2000 or 2500. This makes it easy for all day casting. I used a Diawa BnG. Not a stiff rod so keep that in mind.

this pole would have been outstanding for fishing but it arrived in pieces, broken peices. i got my money back and brought elsewhere.

You’ll love the look and performance of this St. Croix Rod.
Great value for this fishing rod. Great sensitivity and good fast action. I paired it up with a Diawa Legalis LT 3000D-3. The balance and feel works gives it great performance.

Very disappointed!
I would like to start by saying this is one beautiful rod. I paired it with a KastKing Kestrel reel, 4Lb. mono and was excited to get to the lake. It was a windy day, and my first cast went a little off where I intended so I started to reel in and snagged the edge of a rock and the pole snapped in half 10 inches above the handle. I was in disbelief that it broke so easily but thought possibly it may have been defective. St. Croix has a 5-year warranty so I thought I would venture there but soon found out there is a $60 fee needed to get the rod replaced. I would suggest to anyone buying this rod, get the Amazon protection plan. Paying half of the value of the rod is not much of a warranty! Taking my loss and going with another manufacturer.

Feels pretty good , if I could go back in time I’d buy these cheaper st croix rods instead of my expensive ones lol . Packaging is pretty good , this is my second rod from them in two weeks both were packaged well . I don’t know why other people seem to have problems…

Removed a star because of the poor packaging.
Terrible job at protecting a delicate item, Amazon. Buyer beware. Otherwise, this is a fantastic ultralight rod with fast action.

The feel in my hands when fishing is amazing.
A light pole I have paired with a Flueger reel. Great action and it’s my favorite ultra light rod. It replaced my old St Croix that I broke the tip on. Totally my fault but I couldn’t go on without it. I love it!

Broken on arrival
Rod has clearly been stepped on or something. It's broken in the middle. Hoping for a replacement.
