Da geht was. Besonders leicht mit Sony-Kameras und der "Kantenanhebung". Das Zielobjekt berührt fast das Objektiv ...

Great Wide angle Lens.. pending you can get it for a good price
So I shoot with the Sony a99ii and I already own the very good Carl Zeiss 16-35m f/2.8 ii lens. Paired with my a99ii, I get very good (and snappy) AF, image quality at 42MP is very nice and all around has been my go to lens when hiking for landscapes.I've been following reviews around the Laowa 12mm, and the idea of having a super wide lens on a99ii has been eating at me since it's launch, however at its normal retail price tag, I couldn't pull the trigger on it. However Amazon had a used model listed and the condition was rated as "Demo" sold from Adorama with a 180 day return policy. Price nearly at 50% off, I decided to give it a shot.Optically, I am extremely amazed at this lens, at wide open, I find the center to be very sharp. Most lenses at the corners with wide open apertures are normally softer so I dont see a reason to discredit this lens for sharing a similar outcome, though i will say that my CZ at the corners is sharper when compared to the Laowa but I'm talking zooming in past 1:1...Build quality is very good. Love the medal body & hood just feel so solid, of course it adds s little weight to your setup. Aperture ring is nothing major, click stops at various points, though I wish I would of had more options between 5.6 and 2.8 vs only having a hard stop at 4, but oh well. Focus ring is very smooth and has the right amount of tension to allow you to pin point your focus. The focus throw is 180 degrees so you have a lot of room to work with. Some people like short throws, I like having options, so a longer throw to me just feels like I can pin point my focus alot better.Would I recommend this.. Depends. For me, I just like having lenses and at 50% off retail for a unit that had no scratches/dents/dust, to come with original box and documentation and offered through a company I trust (adorama), it was a no brainer. Will this lens replace my CZ16-35m2, heck no. The lack of no AF alone would not want me to walk around with the Laowa HOWEVER I will use it from time to time when I take astro shots, and or planned landscape shots or if i'm just feeling bored. People who are into real estate photography might see alot of value in having this lens and for those business needs, it may be a wise decision (even at retail price). Alot of people who are not familiar with manual lenses (as I was before i bought this lens), it can be a little daunting to take the leap, however the Focus Peaking option in the Sony cameras make focusing super easy and without that in camera option, i would never have wanted to try a manual lens.I've included 2 shots straight out of camera, I did a very good job with No moving the camera when swapping out lenses to show you how much more you can get with the 12mm vs 16mm. [Granted not a very picturesque shot but you get the point].Final 2 points I wanted to share1. I created this review because the current bad review indicates that this lens did not work on someone's a7iii camera. Well for starters, this is the A-mount version of the Laowa and the a7 cameras are E-mount, so you can't fix stupid. Even if the user knew they were buying an a-mount lens and planned to use the e-mount adapter, I am curious if the person realize that this is a manual lens. Meaning when you attach it to your camera, you will not get an F stop reading nor can you control the aperture via camera body, you have to use lens ring. I believe the default option in our cameras, to allow shutter to be fired when no lens is detected is turned OFF, you have to go into the camera menu and change it to ON, otherwise it will never fire a shot.2. You also lose other potential features of the camera because the camera can't communicate with the lens. EX: When I went to take my first shot, I had Image Stabilization turned on, due to the lack of communication, the camera didn't understand what focal length I was using so at half shutter press my 5 axis stabilization starting going crazy. To resolve you either need to turn off I.S. or go into the focal setting and manually select 12mm (which I did) ,now i can take I.S. shots.I hope this was helpful, if you have questions feel free to leave a comment and I will do my best to answer quickly.
