Big Phat band
There is no denying that this band is fantastic but I found it extremely difficult to play along with. I am really not sure if they have written saxophone parts for trombone. It is an excellent listen and a great challenge to play. I am a good trombone player but I found some of the tracks almost impossible.Fair play to whoever put the tracks together they will be a challenge for anyone.Even if you struggle with play along it is a great purchase for any Jazz enthusiast.

Big Phat Music
An excellent play-a-long CD with a 10 fantastic tunes, it's encouraging me to actually practice which is something I thought would be a challenge. Sadly there are only 3 transcribed solos to read and compare yourself to and the written commentary (before each chart) says small, generic things about soloing so doesn't offer much advice sadly.Still I would definitely recommend it for any Gordon Goodwin fans who want to rehearse on their own!

Keeping the Chops Together
There's nothing like playing live to keep the chops together, and this CD and book are as close as you will get to playing live. The Big Phat band is one of the best big bands going. Playing Gordon's charts is very challenging, and you also get a lot of solo space. This item is just what I needed!

Trombone Chopbuster
Disappointed in the trombone parts, after having played the alto and tenor sax parts extensively. Not every bone player is a screecher and you need to be one to play most of these charts. Wonder if he'll do a bass trombone version?
